Jax Taylor Says He’s ‘Utterly Embarrassed’ By Recent Behavior, Apologizes to Ex Brittany Cartwright

Jax Taylor reflected on recent behavior, apologizing to estranged wife Brittany Cartwright and fans who have watched his antics play out on The Valley.
During a Tuesday, June 17, appearance on What What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Taylor, 45, admitted regret over recent actions, which have included moments of rage with Cartwright, 36. (Cartwright filed for divorce from Taylor in August 2024 and shares one son, Cruz, 4, with him.)
Cohen, 57, started the conversation by alerting Taylor to messages he had received “from people that are, just, even mad that you’re here,” and told the reality star that many believe he “shouldn’t be given this platform.” He then asked Taylor what he had to say for himself.
“First of all, I want to apologize to everybody who’s watching this right now,” Taylor began. “It’s just, the stuff that was shown is pretty triggering to a lot of people and you know I’m watching it back, I watch the episodes now… which is a first. You watch it back and it’s just, like, I’m utterly embarrassed of my actions.”
During the Tuesday episode of The Valley, Jax told the cameras he was “so happy that other people have issues,” reflecting on a tense confrontation that saw him and Jason Caperna question Danny Booko about his relationship with alcohol. (Taylor openly discussed his own alcohol and drug issues with Us Weekly in a cover story published online on March 26, and spent 30 days in rehab in summer 2024.)
In one of Taylor’s most controversial moments, he admitted on The Valley during the season 2 premiere, which screened on Bravo in April, that he flew into a “full f***ing unhinged rage” after accusing Cartwright of cheating. (Cartwright said on the show that a flipped coffee table hit her knee while Taylor admitted that he had “an out-of-body experience.”)
Speaking to Cohen, Taylor said, “Nobody should ever have to deal with the way I acted, nobody should ever have to deal with, you know, verbal abuse from anybody. I’m really sorry that people had to see all that.”
The host then asked Taylor if he was “sorry to Brittany,” to which Taylor instantly replied, “Very sorry to Brittany. It was a very, very, very tough year for both of us.”
Taylor’s appearance on WWHL also offered an update into his sobriety, with the reality star telling Cohen that he was “201 days sober” and detailing ongoing therapy sessions which involve regular drug testing.
“I have my therapist do it when I go into therapy, it was kind of the deal,” Taylor said on the show. “I don’t have to do that legally, but … you know what, I want to be held accountable. Brittany has drug tests at the house, you can drug test me anytime you want.”
He then, however, concluded that his ongoing sobriety is not his main concern at the moment. “To be honest with you, right now, that [drugs] isn’t my issue,” Taylor told Cohen. “I’ve got a lot of other issues that I’ve got to deal with. My ego, my anger, my control, my manipulation, all these things.”
