Jennifer Lawrence Says She Gave Robert Pattinson Food out of the Garbage Without Telling Him
Jennifer Lawrence claimed Robert Pattinson ate food she’d retrieved out of her garbage.
Speaking on the Friday, October 17, episode of The Graham Norton Show, Lawrence, 35, detailed an ordeal that involved her Die, My Love costar, 39, visiting her at home one evening.
“He comes in and I give him a hug, and he’s like, ‘You have any food? I’m so hungry,’” she said on the couch alongside Jeremy Allen White, Bruce Springsteen and Tessa Thompson. “He goes to the bathroom, and I do have food, but it’s in the trash. And so while he was in the bathroom, I was just, like, pulling food out of my garbage can.”
She added that when he finished eating, Pattinson said, “I’m still hungry. Is there more?”
Lawrence, who promoted the pair’s new film at the Cannes Film Festival in May and shared a string of red carpet appearances with Pattinson, explained that he had been working on a project near Lawrence’s home when he called her for an impromptu meal. “I had my girlfriends over. We were in our pajamas, we were watching Little Women. It was December,” Lawrence said. “And I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ because Rob is one of the girls. He wants to gossip. He is one of the girls. So I was like, ‘Come over.’”
The Silver Linings Playbook star continued, “He’s also like my daughter. He’s a great father, he’s a professional, he shows up on time, but I wouldn’t trust that he, like, put a coat on. He brings out a very maternal [side in me].”
Pattinson is father to one daughter, 19 months, whom he shares with fiancée Suki Waterhouse. Her name has not been publicly revealed. For her part, Lawrence is mother to two children — sons, Cy, 3, and another child, six months, whose name has not been publicly confirmed — whom she shares with husband Cooke Maroney.
Lawrence’s recollection of the evening went on with the actress claiming that she and her friends were “all just kinda watching him eat this trash,” before he asked for more and she then admitted that the food was coming out of her garbage.
“He was like, ‘Oh, I don’t mind,’ and he just pulled it out of the trash and just kept eating it,” Lawrence said.
Die, My Love is set for a Friday, November 7 release and features Lawrence as Grace, a writer who gives birth to her first child and develops postpartum depression and psychosis. In the film, which is based on a 2012 Spanish novel written by Ariana Harwicz, Pattinson plays Jackson, Grace’s husband.
As part of her ongoing promotional duties, Lawrence most recently stunned in a risque gown while attending the 69th annual BFI London Film Festival at the Royal Festival Hall on Friday, October 16. Her black Armani Privé couture dress featured a plunging neckline, halter straps and an open back that flashed some sideboob.
For Pattinson’s part, he was recently interviewed by Icon Magazine and spoke about how his life has changed since welcoming his daughter. “It’s funny, it’s not even patience; I genuinely enjoy hanging out with babies. That surprised me,” he was seen sharing via an October 3 Instagram teaser for the outlet’s cover story.
