  • The SiriusXM host complimented her Kiss of the Spider Woman performance — and her character’s hairstyle
  • But the actress confessed she was worried about donning a platinum blonde hairdo

Jennifer Lopez transformed from head to toe for the Kiss of the Spider Woman.

The actress appeared on the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, Oct. 15 and reflected on her experience making her latest film. During Lopez, 56, and Howard Stern’s conversation, the radio host complimented her performance and also said that he liked her character’s hairstyle.

In the movie adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical, Lopez stars as Ingrid Luna, donning a platinum blonde look. The film follows two prisoners in a repressive South American prison — a Marxist revolutionary (Diego Luna) and a gay window dresser imprisoned for “immoral behavior” (Tonatiuh) — who escape their woes by imagining the story of a Hollywood musical starring the fictional screen star Ingrid Luna.

“I like you as a platinum blonde,” Stern, 71, said. “I know you were thinking I don’t want to be [blonde] in the movie.”

Lopez added, “It was so different. I was just worried because I’d never had platinum blonde hair.”

She explained that she’s previously tried blonde wigs before, but “it always looked so terrible on [her] skin tone.”

“I thought this would be bad,” she confessed. “But it was a whole transformation. The skin needed to be transformed. I had to put more pink in my foundation.” She added that the lipsticks she wears typically wouldn’t go with that hair.

As she continued, she shared that her makeup artist, Scott Barnes, reassured her and said, “I know how to do it. We’re going to make it beautiful.”

“Everything changed. I turned into a different person,” she said. “My hands moved differently. My body was different. Colors that I wore. Everything changed.”

Lopez didn’t keep the blonde look after the production wrapped, but she embraced the movie star style.

More recently, on Oct. 6, Lopez wore an avant-garde Harris Reed Demi-Couture gown that appeared to nod to the film’s name with its spider-like corset. The showstopping front, included a deep, cleavage-baring portrait neckline; but the dress was even more attention-grabbing from the back with its open silhouette.

That day, she kept her streak going in a fitted pencil dress with furry sleeve cuffs, as well as nude stilettos, for her appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark.

For her appearance on the Today show, she paired a tan leather blazer with a white shirt with the top buttons undone. She also wore floor-sweeping trousers in a muted gray color that balanced out the gold and warm-toned brown of her accessories.

Then for her appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, she sported a fitted pencil dress with furry sleeve cuffs, as well as nude stilettos.

The day before, on Oct. 6, Lopez appeared outside The View studios in a black and white outfit. The star appeared to go slightly more casual than the day before — that is, until getting a closer look at the details. Note the knitted cardigan, which appeared to have long braids with ribbons attached to it.

Prior to her morning talk show appearances, Lopez decided to lean into ’80s-core on Oct. 6. She was seen in a light blue high-neck top tucked into a turquoise pencil skirt that she accessorized with a wide-brim hat and a bright red clutch.

That same day, she wore a mustard yellow co-ord, featuring a plunging blazer and flared skirt, paired with a brown croc-print clutch, patterned stilettos and oversized sunglasses.
