Jessica Biel Shares Sweet Note From Her Kids, Written on a Paper Towel
Jessica Biel is just like Us moms when it comes to getting handwritten notes from the kids.
The actress, 43, shared photos of flowers and a note that her sons, Silas, 10, and Phineas, 4, gave to her as she was battling a “summer cold.”
“My kids are the best ♥️,” she captioned the post via Instagram on Thursday, August 21. (Biel shares her sons with husband Justin Timberlake.)
The letter, written on a paper towel nonetheless, read (in all caps): “We hope you feel better soon Mommy. We love you!!!” Hearts adorned the paper towel note, which was attached to a bouquet of sunflowers.
Biel further elaborated on her illness via TikTok video on August 9, “I got this really bad head cold, you can hear it in my voice.” She added that she sang the Charlie Chaplin song “Smile” at bedtime but her son insisted she “stop singing, it’s really bad” and noted that it’ll just make her cold worse.
Biel then showed off her note and sunflowers once again, saying the gift arrived after she was battling her sickness all day.
“Kids are not so bad. They’re not. They’re not horrible! They’re so nice,” she joked.
Prior to her sick day, Biel shared another TikTok on August 4, in which she detailed a funny story about how her son told her she looked old.
“Yeah, that’s what I got this morning,” she explained. “And I said, ‘Oh, well, it’s OK. We’re all getting older. You’re gonna get older. I’m gonna get older. We’re all getting older.’ And he said, ‘I hope you don’t look like a grandma.’”
Biel said the comment got her thinking about the passage of time and how, before she knows it, she will, in fact, be someone’s grandmother.
“It really got me thinking about, wow, life is moving fast and grandma days might be shortly on the horizon,” she said. “So, let your kid ride his Tonka truck all up and down the dirt road for as long as he wants to, because one day you’re gonna be a grandma and you’re not going to want to be doing all that s***. Or maybe you will. I hope I’m the grandma who drives around a Tonka truck, a power wheel. I hope so. Anyway, here’s to looking old.”
Biel has recently been enjoying some downtime after Timberlake, 44, wrapped up his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in July.
“Tour wifey / mommy out ✌🏼,” she wrote via Instagram, alongside a carousel of photos and videos from the tour on July 30.
On August 15, the Better Sister star shared photos from a vacation, including one of her boys on their scooters. “Family summer vibes ♥️,” she captioned the post.
Biel married Timberlake in October 2012 after five years of dating. They welcomed Silas in April 2015 and their second son, Phineas, in the summer of 2020.
“It really takes a village to raise any kid, let alone in a wild business like this where parents are traveling for long times for work,” she told InStyle in May, adding that she and Timberlake try to make sure one of them is always home. “Sometimes we do a good job; we try to have one of us working full time, only one. It doesn’t always happen, because the opportunities arise and the timing is what it is. You just have to take advantage of it.”
