Does Jessie J have beef with Mel B?

In a Wednesday, Sept. 10, appearance on KISS FM’s Say It Or Shot It with Harriet Rose, the “Price Tag” singer addressed a shady comment the Spice Girl made years ago.

“I’ve never worked with this person, but I just want to acknowledge it in this moment because I feel safe,” Jessie J, 37, said during the segment. “I probably shouldn’t, but here we go.”

“So on TV, Mel B, she said I was a d—head, out of nowhere,” the “Bang Bang” singer continued.

“I saw this clip, and I don’t want to say it because it’s very wrong, but she said that you were overrated,” host Rose responded.

“No, no, that was one time, but then there was another interview where someone said to her, ‘Who are three people that are being a d—head,’ and she named me, Geri Halliwell and James Corden,” Jessie J replied. “And I was like, I’ve literally met her once.”

Jessie J said she met Mel B at the Olympics and was “so starstruck” she didn’t speak: “I was like, where is this coming from?”

The musician, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, added that she was going to message the Spice Girl asking why she made that comment and what she could have done to upset her.

“But I was like, you know what? That’s your opinion, it is what it is,” she said.

The clip Jessie J was referring to was from a 2022 interview on Channel 4’s The Big Narstie Show in which Mel B, 50, answered British comedian Mo Gilligan’s query about the “biggest d—head celebrity,” per Billboard.

“So, there’s a few. James Corden, Geri Halliwell, Jessie J and me,” the Spice Girl responded at the time.

On Sept. 6, Jessie J returned to the stage after undergoing breast cancer surgery, performing at the BBC Radio 2 In the Park festival in England.

“You have no idea how grateful I am to see so many of you singing along after all these years,” she tld the crowd at the show, which was the first time her son Sky saw her perform. “It truly feels like I’m a little kid. Still doing what I love.”
