Jodie Turner-Smith breaks silence on ex Joshua Jackson’s romance with Lupita Nyong’o: ‘Good for them’

Jodie Turner-Smith broke her silence on her estranged husband Joshua Jackson’s budding romance with Lupita Nyong’o.

“Good for them,” she told the Cut in an interview published June 14. “We need happiness in order to peacefully co-parent.”

The “Queen & Slim” actress, who shares daughter Juno, 4, with Jackson, said she hopes she and the actor and can get along like another former A-list couple — Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow.

“I’m trying to get us to the Gwyneth and Chris Martin level,” she joked.

“I just have to do everything that I can to set Juno up to win,” Turner-Smith, 37, added, “and to peacefully co-parent with someone whom I once loved very, very much.”

When it comes to the “Dawson’s Creek” alum and Nyong’o, the mom of one said, “I truly hope they’re happy and that it benefits us as a family.”

Turner-Smith filed for divorce from Jackson, 46, in October 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the split.

A source told Us Weekly at the time that the dad of one did not think the pair’s marital woes were serious enough to warrant a divorce.

“Joshua was clearly caught off guard by Jodie’s decision to divorce,” the insider said.

“They had their issues, as many couples do — especially two busy actors who are also juggling a child. Joshua obviously didn’t realize it was this bad, that Jodie was this unhappy.”

Nearly three weeks later, Jackson was spotted at a concert with Nyong’o.

A source told TMZ there was nothing romantic going on with the pair and that they were there with a group of friends.

However, last December, the “Mighty Ducks” actor and the “Black Panther” actress, 41, confirmed their romance by holding hands while taking a stroll in Joshua Tree, Calif.

Nyong’o and Jackson were then spotted packing on the PDA while celebrating her birthday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in March.

According to photos, the couple held hands as they frolicked on the white sand and even embraced to share a kiss as the “Us” star wrapped her arms around Jackson’s neck and head.

Meanwhile, Turner-Smith, who tied the knot with Jackson in 2019, has not been romantically linked to anyone.
