John Lennon’s son Sean welcomes baby boy — ‘Beatles’ rockstar’s first grandchild — with partner Charlotte Kemp Muhl

Sean Ono Lennon, the child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, welcomed his first child into the world.

Ono Lennon, 50, and his longtime partner Charlotte Kemp Muhl, 39, announced the birth of their baby boy Tuesday evening, sharing photos of their new family on social media.

“Okay so…Charlotte and I would like to announce that we have indeed created a Human Bean!” Sean wrote on Instagram Tuesday evening. “His name is, Aurelius! Thank you!”

Sean also shared a photo of himself holding Aurelius, who was wrapped in a white blanket, as well as a photo of Kemp Muhl with their son in a hospital bed.

“Baby Momma!” he captioned the latter.

Kemp Muhl, a musician and model, also shared photos from the early days of parenthood, including images of herself carrying Aurelius in a baby harness while walking in the water, holding a small crab and looking after their sleeping newborn.

“We made a human! Am convinced DNA is agentic alien quaternary code,” she wrote.

“The sleep deprivation only adds to the surrealism…Burping technique tips welcome. Been playing him Aphex Twin and Stravinsky. Meconium is crazy,” she added.

Julian Lennon, John Lennon’s eldest son with his first wife Cynthia, reacted to the news on Instagram with four heart emojis — to which Sean responded “Uncle Jules!”

Sean is the only child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. He was born in Manhattan on his father’s 35th birthday on Oct. 9, 1975, just over five years before the legendary “Beatles” rocker was killed on Dec. 8, 1980.

John Lennon was killed the same year he and Ono released “Double Fantasy,” which included “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy),” the song he wrote for Sean about fatherhood and watching his son grow up.

Sean and Kemp Muhl met at Coachella in 2005 and began dating in 2007.

They have also worked together on several music projects, including their band the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger.

Sean has continued his parents’ musical legacy, releasing four solo albums, five albums with Ono, 93, and three with the psychedelic rock band the Claypool Lennon Delirium.

He has also worked as a producer, including on Lana Del Rey’s 2017 album “Lust for Life,” which features their duet “Tomorrow Never Came.”

In December 2025, Sean said he had “technically” taken over as custodian of his father’s legacy, a role Ono had for decades.

“But obviously the world is also the custodian of his legacy, I would say,” Sean told “CBS Sunday Morning.”

“I’m just doing my best to help make sure that the younger generation doesn’t forget about The Beatles and John and Yoko. That’s how I look at it,” he added.

While Aurelius is John Lennon’s first grandchild, Ono has two grandchildren through her daughter Kyoko Chan Cox — Emi and Jack.
