Josh Allen Makes This Surprising Choice During Games That Shows His Love for Hailee Steinfeld
NEED TO KNOW
- Since marrying Hailee Steinfeld on May 31, Josh Allen surprisingly wears his wedding ring during NFL games
- The Buffalo Bills quarterback has been seen competing with his ring on, despite the risk of ring avulsion, a serious injury that often leads to amputation
- The Buffalo Bills are 4-1 since Allen and Steinfeld tied the knot
When Josh Allen takes the field, the Buffalo Bills quarterback makes a surprising, and risky, choice that shows just how proud he is to be married to Hailee Steinfeld.
After Allen, 29, and Steinfeld, 28, tied the knot in a romantic Santa Barbara, Calif. ceremony on May 31, the NFL MVP said it was “the best night of my life” on the premiere of HBO’s Hard Knocks. And as the Bills start the season 4-1, Allen is showing his pride by wearing his wedding ring during games.
The quarterback has been seen wearing his wedding band while competing this NFL season, which is surprising considering the risk of ring avulsion, an injury to one of your fingers that happens when a ring you’re wearing is suddenly pulled with a strong force, according to the Cleveland Health Clinic, and is a serious injury that frequently results in amputation of the finger.
When Allen returned to Bills training camp in June, he reportedly flaunted his wedding ring to reporters, per the Associated Press, and said, “Got some hardware now. So, good to go.”
The quarterback and Steinfeld had mostly kept mum about their relationship prior to their engagement in Nov. 2024. At training camp, Allen told the AP that marrying Steinfeld “was the most important decision I’ll make in my life and I made the right one.”
In the Sinners actress’ Beau Society newsletter on June 13, she shared details about the wedding weekend, which included guests like Larry David and several of Allen’s Bills teammates.
“We asked a few of our close friends to give little speeches the night before,” Steinfeld shared. “Collectively, they spoke with the perfect balance of humor and so much love. I was a puddle. I stole their printed and handwritten pages right out of their hands to frame them.”
“It felt like love was running through the veins of every tree at our gorgeous venue in Santa Barbara,” she said of the wedding. “Our family and friends coming together amplified it.”
Steinfeld walked down the aisle, accompanied by her father, carrying a single crystal rose. She wore an “exquisite” dress designed by Tamara Ralph that left Allen “stunned.” After the bride and groom exchanged “I Dos,” they walked down the aisle as “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” played and the sky thundered.
“No rain, just thunder and lightning. Magical,” Steineld recalled.
