Justine Lupe Doesn’t Know If ‘Nobody Wants This’ Will Show Morgan’s Happy Ending (Exclusive)
Justine Lupe has high hopes for season 3 of Nobody Wants This — but there is one story line she isn’t sure the show will explore.
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly at TheWrap Power Women Summit 2025 on Tuesday, December 2, Lupe, 36, teased what fans can expect when the hit Netflix show returns with more episodes.
“I feel so trusting in these showrunners. I’m just excited to see what they come up with,” she noted. “I think they are just so talented and I love each of these characters so much that I’m kind of looking forward to the surprise.”
Lupe acknowledged how season 3 would be picking up in the aftermath of Morgan’s failed engagement.
“I have faith in Morgan’s happy ending,” she said. “I don’t know if it will happen on camera but I have faith in her as a person who’s figuring her stuff out. I do think she will get her happy ending.”
Nobody Wants This, which premiered in September 2024, centers around the unlikely relationship between the outspoken, agnostic Joanne (Kristen Bell) and unconventional rabbi Noah (Adam Brody). After its inaugural season’s success, the show returned for a second season, which picked up after Joanne and Noah decided to give their unlikely romance a real shot — and followed more people in their lives including her sister, Morgan.
Season 2 premiered in October and showed Morgan finding love with Dr. Andy (Arian Moayed) who turned out to not only be a therapist but her therapist as well. Despite Joanne’s objections, Morgan continued to date Dr. Andy, and they even got engaged.
Ultimately, Morgan couldn’t avoid the red flags and pulled the plug at their engagement party. She also continued to grow closer to Sasha (Timothy Simons), whose marriage to Esther (Jackie Tohn) hit major issues.
Nobody Wants This also found ways to keep surprising the audience courtesy of some star-studded cameos. Leighton Meester and Seth Rogen appeared in fun season 2 roles, which could pave the way for more appearances.
“Yeah, sure [I would come back],” he told Us last month. “If they want me to!”
Rogen continued: “It’s nice [to see the support]! Honestly, we’ve entered some new realm of cultural importance. I don’t feel that way at all. I think infinitely more people saw me on Nobody Wants This [than my other shows like The Studio]!”
While looking ahead at season 3, Lupe offered some suggestions about more fun celeb cameos.
“I said recently that I liked the idea of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn on the show,” she shared with Us. “I think they’re both such funny, joyful geniuses and they would really fit into the show.”
Nobody Wants This is currently streaming on Netflix.
