Kate Middleton and Prince William surprise kids with trip to set of ‘Harry Potter’ series: report
Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly gifted their three children with a “magical” trip to the set of the new “Harry Potter” series on Friday.
“It was so special,” an on-set insider told the Daily Mail, sharing that Middleton took Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, to meet the “young actors and the director on the set” while William spent the weekend visiting his father, King Charles III, in Scotland
“There was only one night of filming there, so it really was a magical ticket.”
According to the outlet, Louis got to take a joyride on the Hogwarts Express — the beloved train that travels from King’s Cross Station to the school of witchcraft and wizardry in the J.K. Rowling-written books.
“He seemed to absolutely love it,” the source claimed.
“It’s the dream for most children to step aboard the Hogwarts Express.”
Reps for the Prince of Wales and the Princess of Wales, both 43, weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
The first season of the Mark Mylod-directed HBO series is currently underway in Europe.
The project will star actor Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ronald Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger.
It’s no secret that the royals are fans of the “Harry Potter” franchise, as Queen Camila, 78, previously revealed that her husband, Charles, 76, would read the books to his grandkids.
“He does all the voices, because he is a brilliant mimic,” she said in 2017, per the Daily Mail. “I’m not very good. I try to do the voices, but acting isn’t my forte. But he sits down and they all sit with him.
“I always think they are going to be wriggling around in the bed, but they sit spellbound. He’s extremely good with children. They love it.”
William and Middleton previously paid a visit to Warner Bros. Studios in the UK in 2013, where all eight of the original “Harry Potter” movies were filmed, per BuzzFeed News.
At the time, the couple announced a new scholarship program for film and TV.
The original movie series, which was released from 2001 to 2011, starred Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ronald Weasley.
