Kate Middleton rewards longtime stylist Natasha Archer with major promotion
Kate Middleton may be out of the public eye, but she’s still tight with her team.
The Princess of Wales has rewarded her longtime stylist, Natasha Archer, with a promotion to the brand-new role of senior private executive.
Archer updated her LinkedIn page with the news last week, per the Daily Mail, listing her actual start date in the position as August 2022 and describing her duties as “clothing,” “diaries” and “projects.”
“Natasha deserves this boost — she’s unfailingly discreet and loyal to Kate. The salary boost will be welcome too. This appointment means we can expect to see Natasha by Kate’s side for years to come,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“It seems to be Kate’s way of thanking her for her loyalty.”
Archer has been working for the royal family since 2007, starting out as Middleton’s personal assistant and later becoming her stylist around 2014.
She’s been widely credited with elevating the princess’ wardrobe over the past decade, an evolution that included a shift from coat dresses to more modern suiting styles following Queen Elizabeth’s death last year.
A source told Page Six Style at the time that opting for power suits over dresses “[gives] her a sense of authority” as the future queen.
In addition to helping Middleton step up her style, Archer’s also supported the royal amid her battle with cancer.
While even the mom of four’s closest aides — presumably including Archer — were unaware of her health issues, the personal assistant was seen leaving the London Clinic with a car full of flowers and gifts after Kate was discharged in January after an abdominal surgery.
According to the Daily Mail, Archer, who is married to royal photographer Chris Jackson, has been “inseparable” from Kate in recent months, accompanying her to and from doctors appointments.
Middleton has not made any public appearances since releasing a video in March announcing her cancer diagnosis and her chemotherapy treatment. A family friend said in May that the princess had “turned a corner” in her treatment and is currently doing well, though a report earlier this month noted she “may never return” to her same royal role.
Ahead of the upcoming Trooping the Colour celebrations, Middleton penned a letter to the Irish Guards — over whom she is an honorary colonel — apologizing that she will miss the ceremonial birthday tribute to King Charles later this week.
“Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon,” she wrote, in part. “Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved.”
Middleton’s sister-in-law Meghan Markle has made some stylist-related changes of her own recently, collaborating with Jamie Mizrahi — the same wardrobe whiz who works with Adele and Jennifer Lawrence.
