Kayla Nicole sends heated message after ex Travis Kelce gets engaged to Taylor Swift

There may be a little bad blood between Kayla Nicole and her ex Travis Kelce.

Following the NFL star’s romantic proposal to Taylor Swift, the sports journalist took to Instagram Stories Friday to send a stern, cryptic message. Alongside a video of her doing an intense glute and leg workout in a colorful bodysuit, she wrote, “The goal? A back that says stop f–king playing with me.”

Nicole’s heated message comes three days after Kelce and Swift shared pics from his backyard rose-filled proposal — which happened two weeks prior.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they captioned a photo carousel from the moment the Kansas City Chiefs tight end popped the question with a massive old mine brilliant-cut sparkler — designed by Kelce — that Page Six exclusively revealed could be worth one million.

On Wednesday, Nicole, 33, seemingly reacted to the proposal heard around the world by posting a video of actress Tracee Ellis Ross sharing “a power reminder on experiencing joy.”

“I work at it,” the actress explained in the clip. “I think joy is different from happiness. I feel like happiness is something you can get at 7-Eleven, and joy is something that you earn and work for and takes practice.”

The “Black-ish” star added, “I feel like joy has legs. I feel like joy has feet. I feel like joy has roots. I feel like joy creates space and allows room for more than just a good day.”

“I think joy is an attitude,” she concluded. “I think joy is a perspective and I think joy is a lens through which I live and look at my life.”

“Read about this concept years ago in a book called ‘Choose Joy: Because Happiness Isn’t Enough,’” Nicole wrote in her own comments, referencing Kay Warren’s book. “I aspire,” she added. “So so good.”

Nicole, 33, dated Kelce, 35, off and on from 2017 to 2022. The athlete began dating the “Cruel Summer” songstress, 35, in July 2023 after unsuccessfully attempting to meet her at the Kansas City stop of her Eras Tour.

In May, Nicole seemingly made a surprising confession about the woman Kelce moved on with following the demise of their romance.

“I think as women, something we struggle with is admitting that the new girl might be popping, might be s–t, might be really hot and there’s no problem in admitting that,” she said of getting over exes, during a May episode of her “Pre-Game” podcast.

“If you’re gonna lose, I want to lose to the best team now,” she quipped, comparing the breakup experience to losing a playoff game to a team that ends up winning the championship.

“I want you to move on and go do your big one,” she said, “make me look good. Right?”
