Keith Urban’s guitarist Maggie Baugh swore off band romances in resurfaced interview
Is she breaking the rules?
In a resurfaced interview, Keith Urban’s guitarist, Maggie Baugh, swore off romances with her bandmates before the country singer’s divorce drama with Nicole Kidman.
When asked during a 2017 interview with “Piper’s Picks TV” if there was “any romance going on off stage,” Baugh replied, “No, there’s not. Honestly.”
“There’s always been a rule, ‘You can’t date the band members,’ ’cause like what happens if we break up and then I lost the drummer,” she quipped.
The musician, 25, then said everyone in her band at that time was “like [her] brothers” and “best friends.”
Baugh’s comment about dating resurfaced as she has been roped into rumors about Urban and Kidman’s divorce.
Late last month, news broke that the “Babygirl” actress, 58, and the “American Idol” judge, 57, were splitting after 19 years of marriage.
Last week, Kidman filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” and added a parenting plan for their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Multiple sources told TMZ that the couple, who tied the knot in 2006, have been living apart “since the beginning of summer” and that Urban relocated to his own spot.
The outlet also reported that the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” crooner is rumored to have already moved on with another woman.
Baugh then became part of the drama when fans noticed that Urban recently changed his Kidman-inspired lyrics to be about the “Drinking to the Broken Hearts” singer.
The country star changed the words from “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter” to “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
And during an April performance, Urban sang the lyrics, “I was born to love you,” as he looked and pointed at Baugh.
While both parties have remained mum on the speculation, Maggie’s dad, Chuck Baugh, told the Daily Mail last week that he hadn’t heard about the dating rumors.
“I don’t know anything about it, other than she’s a guitar player for him,” he told the outlet. “It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing.”
