Kelly Bensimon Splits From New Boyfriend After Months-Long ‘Private’ Romance: What Went Wrong?

The Real Housewives of New York City alum Kelly Bensimon is on the market once again.

Bensimon, 57, revealed during the Thursday, January 8, episode of the “I Do Part 2” podcast that she’s single once again after experiencing a lack of support from the man that she was dating.

“I have a lot of bandwidth, and then, sometimes I just snap. I had some health issues last year, and I was going through a lot of things personally,” Bensimon told listeners. “It really made me see what I wanted in my romantic life, and how I wanted to navigate that and move forward into 2026.”

She clarified that her ex “did not show up when I really, really needed them,” which was her final straw.

Bensimon revealed during an October 2025 episode of the “I Do Part 2” podcast that she was experiencing a new “private” romance.

“He’s a wildly kind, very thoughtful girl dad. Very successful, very creative,” she said at the time. “He’s also super adventurous. He’s very protective of me. He encourages me to do everything from work, podcasting, all of my brands, all my influencing.”

Who Is Kelly Bensimon’s Most Recent Ex?

Throughout her past few appearances on the podcast, Bensimon kept details about their relationship vague. Aside from the October 2025 reveal of her relationship, the former Bravo star kept her romance mainly offline.

“He’s a very dynamic human. … Very smart, very dynamic, very successful,” he said, “He checks all the boxes. That’s why I fell in love with him. I fell in love with him because I thought that he was my person.”

Falling in Love

When revealing her romance in October 2025, Bensimon — who was married to Gilles Bensimon from 1997 to 2007 and engaged to Scott Litner in 2023 — said she had never been in love. However, that changed with this romance.

“I fell madly in love with him. I love him,” she explained. “I was so in love with him. I had those love goggles on. They were so tight. I was madly in love with him. He could do no wrong.”

What Her Kids Said

Bensimon shares daughters Sea and Teddy with her ex-husband. They noticed a change with their mom, which made them speak up.

“There were a couple of things that happened that made them question what was going on and my relationship,” Bensimon recalled. “They were just like, ‘Mommy, you’re not you.’”

A Mutual Split

Bensimon said she felt like there was “a change in temperature” within their relationship.

“I just knew in my heart that this is not right,” she added. “I can’t speak for him, but I know that he was not happy with the change in the temperature.”

Moving On

The former reality star said she still loves her ex “very much” but had formed a different mindset.

“I still think that he’s an amazing human. I don’t see him the way that I did, maybe, two weeks ago,” Bensimon said. “When we did have a confrontational moment, I saw a lot of things I didn’t like. But that doesn’t make him bad, it just makes him not right for me.”
