Kid Cudi Marries Longtime Love Lola Abecassis Sartore Weeks After Taking the Stand in Diddy Trial

Kid Cudi and longtime love Lola Abecassis Sartore have officially tied the knot.
The couple, who met at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in 2018, exchanged vows in the south of France on June 28. The ceremony took place near Sartore’s hometown at the Cap Estel in Èze.
“It was intense — but so fun and enjoyable to get to turn our vision into our dream weekend,” she told Vogue in an interview published on Friday, July 11, revealing that they worked with Jesse Tombs to plan the event.
“A beautiful location, the people we love the most, and simple decor to highlight all of that,” Sartore continued. “The red thread throughout the process was timelessness.”
Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) opted for a Saint Laurent suit when they walked down the aisle, while Sartore worked with Alain Paul to design her looks. The couple also included a tribute to their late friend and designer Virgil Abloh, since it was at his first Louis Vuitton show that they met. (Abloh died in November 2021 at age 41.)
“It was bliss,” Sartore said of the ceremony. “A moment out of time where the world stopped, and it was just the two of us. We forgot everything around us. It was just us and our love, and it was the purest moment.”
Cudi’s wedding came a little over a month after he testified against Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York City on May 22. Diddy was arrested late last year and pleaded not guilty to several charges, including sex trafficking.
The “Pursuit of Happiness” musician was called to take the stand in trial because of his romantic past with Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie. Cudi alleged that Diddy was “abusive” to Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) during their relationship. Cudi, who thought Cassie had split from Diddy when they started dating, recalled taking her to the Sunset Marquis hotel while they were dating. He alleged it was to keep her “safe” from Diddy.
At the time, Cudi claimed he got a call from an associate who worked with him and Diddy. The assistant, Capricorn Clark, claimed Diddy was on the way to Cudi’s house.
“I wanted to confront him,” Cudi said of Diddy. “I wanted to fight him.”
After Cudi and Cassie broke up, he recalled getting a call about his car being on fire. The jury was shown photos of the car. Cudi and Diddy allegedly had a face-to-face meeting over the car incident. Cudi claimed that Diddy’s demeanor was “off-putting” during their conversation. Two years later, Diddy allegedly apologized for the past drama.
Diddy was found guilty of two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution after a two-month trial that concluded earlier this month. He was of three other charges, two counts of sex trafficking and one count of racketeering conspiracy. The music mogul was denied bail and will remain in jail until his October sentencing hearing.
