Kim Cattrall shades ‘Sex and the City’ co-stars after ‘And Just Like That’ ends

Kim Cattrall “liked” an Instagram comment insinuating the much-maligned “Sex and the City” spinoff, “And Just Like That,” failed because the actress wasn’t involved with the series.

“And Just Like that…we all know it was Sam (Kim) who carried the entire franchise,” a fan wrote on Cattrall’s birthday post on Thursday, to which Cattrall gave a thumbs up.

“You embodied everything that is the essence of a strong powerful and vulnerable woman. We love and respect you.” 

The subtle shade comes a week after the controversial series suddenly ended after three seasons.

Cattrall, 69, did not appear as a regular cast member in the HBO Max revival series, making just a brief cameo at the conclusion of Season 2.

She famously starred as Samantha Jones in “Sex and the City” opposite Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, from 1998 to 2004. She also appeared alongside the original cast in two “Sex and the City” movies.

News broke on Aug. 1 that “AJLT” would not be returning for a fourth season, with show runner Michael Patrick King making a surprise announcement via social media.

King wrote that while he was writing the final episode of Season 3, “it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop.”

“It’s with great gratitude that we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years,” he concluded the statement.

The same day — as her former cast members expressed their sadness at the show’s ending — Cattrall seemingly responded with a photo of a sunset over a body of water, cryptically captioning it: “It’s the end of a very long week ❤️💋.”

Amid Cattrall’s 69th trip around the sun, only one “Sex and the City” alum publicly acknowledged her big day.

“Happy Birthday Kim!” Chris Noth, who played Carrie Bradshaw’s love interest Mr. Big on both series, commented on her makeup-free birthday selfie.

Cattrall and Parker, 60, have been in a longtime feud following the end of “Sex and the City,” with Cattrall saying she has “never been friends” with the other cast members in a 2017 interview with Piers Morgan.

“We’ve been colleagues and in some ways it’s a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal,” she added.
