And this year’s CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year goes to…

Lainey Wilson was named Entertainer of the Year during the 2025 CMA Awards at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 19, winning over Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Morgan Wallen.

Wilson, who also served as the night’s host, received her award from Keith Urban shortly after also taking home the win for Female Vocalist of the Year. It marks her second Entertainer of the Year prize at the CMAs.

“I’mma be honest with y’all. I was just so tickled to be here hosting this thing tonight. I just came into here just wanting to celebrate country music, the love of my life and I know the love of so many of y’all’s lives,” she said.

The “4x4xU” singer went on to thank her parents Michelle and Brian, Jesus, and her fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges.

“We’re getting married next year, come on now!” she said to applause. “I could not do this without my village. It takes a village. I just have the most incredible team of people who just work tirelessly all the time.”

She continued, “Thank you for loving me and supporting me and thank you to the fans that just keep on making my dreams come true every single day. I love y’all. God bless. We about to party at Bell Bottoms Up.”

Wilson, 33, also earned nominations at the 2025 CMA Awards for Single of the Year and Song of the Year with “4x4xU,” Album of the Year with Whirlwind, Music Video of the Year with “Somewhere Over Laredo.”

“I have always had stars in my eyes,” Wilson told PEOPLE in July while discussing her Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibit. “I see it in the pictures of me as a little girl. I feel like I’ve tried my best to hold on to that inner child, and I’m proud of her. I think she’s got grit.”

Fellow nominee Combs, 35, also earned nominations at the 2025 CMA Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for the Twisters soundtrack cut “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma,” which reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on U.S. Country Songs.

In an interview with Taste of Country ahead of the awards show, Combs revealed his pick for Entertainer of the Year — other than himself. “I mean, I think Lainey’s chances are high,” he said. “But CoJo [Cody Johnson] would be kinda sick, too, you know what I mean? He’s great. I love him, too.”

Johnson, 38, also earned nominations at the 2025 CMA Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year as well as Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year for “I’m Gonna Love You” with Carrie Underwood — which reached No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on U.S. Country Airplay.

In an interview with Billboard, Johnson spoke about how “I’m Gonna Love You” was written eight years before its release and even pitched to Underwood before making its way to him.

“I had no idea that she had even heard the song,” he said. “When I sent it over to them, she was like, ‘Well this is the second time this song has made its way into my life.’ I think it’s a God thing. I think we were meant to sing that song together and the timing was right. And it could almost be a pop crossover, it has that feel to it, but we’re singing it like a gospel song.”

Stapleton, 47, also earned nominations at the 2025 CMA Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year for “Think I’m In Love With You.” Originally released on his Higher album in 2023, the song reached No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 12 on U.S. Country Airplay.

Ahead of tonight’s show, Stapleton previously won fifteen CMA Awards — most recently Male Vocalist of the Year in 2023. “I never thought of myself as somebody who’d win this award,” he said at the time. I’m so grateful for each and every person who works so hard to make us able to do what we do — my wife Morgane, thank you.”

Wallen, 32, also earned nominations at the 2025 CMA Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year as well as Album of the Year with I’m the Problem, which became his third to top the Billboard 200 chart following its May 16 release.

Last month, Wallen announced his upcoming Still the Problem Tour, set to hit stadiums throughout North America in spring and summer 2026. “I’d like to think that over the past year I’ve grown a ton,” he said in a video announcement. “For a long time I had a lot of things holding me back, and I feel like I’ve said goodbye to a lot of those things, and I’m proud of the results that came from doing that.”

The 59th Annual CMA Awards broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on ABC. The show streams the following day on Hulu.
