Leah Remini officially files for divorce from husband Angelo Pagán after 21 years of marriage, cites ‘irreconcilable differences’

Leah Remini filed for divorce from Angelo Pagán on Thursday and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation, Page Six can confirm.
The “King of Queens” star filed in Los Angeles County and listed Aug. 1 as the date of their separation, per court documents obtained by Page Six Friday.
She waived her right to spousal support and asked the court to terminate its eligibility to award support to Pagán. The “Bosch: Legacy” actor also waived his right to spousal support in his response submitted on Friday.
Both parties wrote in their respective court filings that they would separate their assets at a later date.
There are no minor children involved in the divorce. Pagán, 56, and Remini, 54, share a 20-year-old daughter, Sofia Bella.
Pagán also has three sons from a previous relationship: Angelo Jr., Alex and Nico.
The estranged couple announced their separation after 21 years of marriage in a joint Instagram post on Thursday.
“This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us,” they penned alongside a throwback and current photo together.
“Yes, we’re sad, and we’ve got some figuring out to do as we continue to move forward into our new normal—together still in many ways, and apart in some new ones.”
They also revealed why they decided to call it quits after such a long time together.
“To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore,” they explained. “After a lot of effort and consideration, we’ve decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today.”
Pagán, 56, and Remini, 54, noted that they decided to be candid about their separation because they were so open about their marriage over the years. Their romance was featured on the TLC series “Leah Remini: It’s All Relative” between 2014 and 2015.
“We hope our journey can inspire others to see that relationships—whether they change or end—aren’t failures,” their post continued. “We’ll keep sharing snippets of our lives as we navigate this new chapter.”
Remini and Pagán met at the Cuban club and restaurant El Floridita in Los Angeles in 1996.
The actress told Redbook magazine in 2010 that it was “love at first sight.”
They walked down the aisle in 2003 and welcomed their daughter the following year.
Though their connecting was instantaneous, Remini admitted in her 2015 memoir “Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology” that the entrepreneur was a “serial cheater” and hid the fact that he was married when they met.
“We did have a hard time at the beginning,” she further recalled on a 2019 episode of “RuPaul.”
“We didn’t meet under the best of circumstances. We got counseling, and it was not an easy road … but the truth of the matter is, he is my rock.”
