Leighton Meester revealed the secret to her 12-year marriage with Adam Brody — and it’s very relatable.

“It’s so funny, because the other night somebody asked me that, and I was like, ‘I wish I had the answer,’ [but] I think just liking each other, and getting along is a big part of it,” the actress, 39, told People in an interview published on Saturday.

“It is sort of at a base level what it’s about. Just being like, ‘I really like this person,’” Meester shared.

“I think being with another person and knowing that they’re going to be imperfect and challenge you, and that you are far from perfect, is [important],” she told the outlet, adding that it is also key “to always be open and willing to work on yourself.”

The two stars — who both started their careers as teen actors on dramas like “Gossip Girl” and “The O.C.” — have spent a lot of time together in their home life and work lives, starring alongside each other in several projects over the years.

Along with films, “River Wild” and “Life Partners,” the couple also worked with each other on the TV series “Nobody Wants This” and “Good Cop/Bad Cop.”

Brody, 46, who won the 2025 Critics Choice Award for his role on the Netflix series, last gave his fans a glimpse at his love for his “darling” wife in his acceptance speech last February.

“Thank you for sharing this life with me and this journey with me. Thank you for our family. I love you with all my heart,” he said at the time, per a video shared online by the Hollywood Reporter.

The pair sealed the win with a steamy kiss at the awards show that was captured on camera.

Meester and Brody made their relationship public in 2013 after they met in 2011 on the set of “The Oranges.”

In November 2013, the couple announced their engagement and they tied the knot in February 2014.

The stars share two children together: daughter Arlo, whom they welcomed in 2015, and a son, whose name has not yet been publicly revealed, whom they welcomed in 2020.
