Lindsay Lohan Reunites With ‘The Parent Trap’ Costars at ‘Freakier Friday’ Premiere

Lindsay Lohan just staged the ultimate Parent Trap reunion!
Nearly 27 years after its release, Lohan, 39, reunited with two of her famous costars from the hit Disney film on Tuesday, July 22, at the world premiere of her latest movie, Freakier Friday.
The actress was spotted posing on the Los Angeles red carpet with Lisa Ann Walter, who played Hallie’s nanny Chessy, and Elaine Hendrix, who famously played Meredith Blake, the movie’s villain.
For the occasion, Lohan wore a floor-length baby pink gown covered in ornate crystals. The star wore her hair down, opting for loose waves. Lohan completed her look with a statement necklace and dangling earrings.
Abbott Elementary star Walter, 61, meanwhile, opted for a black pinstripe pantsuit and Hendrix, 54, looked glamorous in an off-white dress detailed with shimmering floral sequins.
Lohan was just 11 when she filmed the dual roles of identical twins Annie and Hallie in 1998’s The Parent Trap. The movie follows two girls — one British and one American — who discover they are twins who were separated at birth and work on a plan to reunite their estranged parents, played by Dennis Quaid and the late Natasha Richardson.
The actress was apparently so convincing playing twins that a Disney executive asked her where her sister was at the movie’s premiere in 1998.
“[He said], ‘Where’s your twin?’ I was so young I don’t even know how I thought to say this, but I’ll never forget what I said,” Lohan recalled on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen last November. “I said, ‘Well you should have paid me double because I don’t have one.’”
In July 2024, Lohan posted a gushing tribute to the film’s director, Nancy Meyers, to mark its 26th anniversary. “Thank you for an incredibly, life changing experience on this beautiful film! Love you Nancy!” she commented on Meyers’ Instagram post celebrating the anniversary. “❤️❤️ more than anything, I cherish our friendship 🙏”
Tuesday, however, was all about the sequel to another iconic movie in Lohan’s filmography: 2003’s Freaky Friday.
Lohan and costar Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, hit the red carpet to promote the upcoming Freakier Friday, which reunites them as Anna (Lohan) and Tess Coleman (Curtis), a daughter and mother who switch bodies.
The sequel will also bring Lohan and Curtis back together with various costars from the original film, including Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon. Newcomers to the franchise include Manny Jacinto and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Freakier Friday is in theaters on August 8.
