Lisa Vanderpump told Ally Lewber to stay with James Kennedy post-domestic violence arrest in ‘weird’ phone call

Ally Lewber claimed Lisa Vanderpump tried to “convince” her to stay with ex-boyfriend James Kennedy after his December 2024 arrest on domestic violence charges following an alcohol relapse.
“She called me, and she did make sure, like, ‘Are you OK?’ I mean, this was, like, two months later, but she called and made sure … maybe a month? I don’t know. Certainly not the next day,” Lewber alleged to Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy, in Wednesday’s episode of the “Viall Files” podcast.
Lewber, 29, described Vanderpump, 64, as “motherly” and “very protective over James,” which she “thought was really weird” when she joined “Vanderpump Rules” in 2023’s Season 10.
“[But] then I kind of started to understand it a little more. But yeah, she was basically like, ‘Ally, he needs you. You’re really good together,’” the astrologer claimed, confirming Joy’s statement that Vanderpump was allegedly “trying to convince [her] to stay with him.”
Lewber continued, “She was like, ‘You should go travel with him to his [DJ] shows this weekend.’ I’m like, ‘First of all, what shows? He’s canceled right now. And also, no? I just moved into an apartment. We’re not together.’”
According to Lewber, the restaurateur made it a point to stress during their conversation, “‘Well, you were drinking, too.’”
Although the singer described the phone call as “really weird,” it admittedly made her feel “weak in the moment,” which left her “questioning everything.”
She thought to herself, “Uh, did I make the wrong decision?”
When Viall asked Lewber whether she thought Kennedy, 33, had sent Vanderpump to contact her, she replied, “I don’t know. I really don’t know.”
Joy then point-blank asked Lewber whether she felt the “need to protect Lisa Vanderpump in this moment,” to which she confessed, “Yeah.”
Reps for Vanderpump did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Lewber maintains she “was not hurt physically” the night Kennedy was arrested, which occurred after the then-couple got into an argument about him being drunk at Kathy Hilton’s Christmas party.
The unidentified woman who called the cops that night, however, alleged Kennedy had lifted Lewber up and threw her on the ground.
The DJ — who has since admitted he fell off the wagon and is working on his “sobriety” — was cleared in January after a “thorough” investigation.
