Mary Beth Barone pokes fun at Joe Alwyn dating rumors after NYC outing

Mary Beth Barone is “hard launching” her relationship with Joe Alwyn — but it’s strictly professional.

The comedian poked fun at dating rumors surrounding her and the “Hamnet” actor after they were spotted together in New York City last week.

Barone revealed via Instagram Tuesday that the pair are set to star in the upcoming rom-com “Still We Met,” which she also wrote, with Lena Dunham among the film’s executive producers.

Alongside screenshots of a Deadline article announcing the movie, Barone shared a selfie of herself and Alwyn enjoying drinks at a restaurant before ending the carousel with a goofy snap of the “Favourite” actor throwing up a rock-star hand sign and sticking out his tongue.

“hard launching this project 😍,” she captioned the post.

Recent photos obtained by Page Six showed Alwyn and the “Overcompensating” actress, both 35, walking across the Williamsburg Bridge on Sept. 17 before they were later spotted seated at a New York City establishment.

Alwyn sported a black T-shirt, loose-fitting jeans and a baseball cap, while Barone wore a black minidress and bright blue boots and carried a denim jacket.

Alwyn was previously in a relationship with Taylor Swift, whom he was first publicly linked to in 2017.

A June 2022 report claimed the exes had secretly gotten engaged before they went their separate ways in April 2023 after more than six years together.

More recently, Alwyn was romantically linked to “Love Story” actress Sarah Pidgeon after they were first spotted together in New York City in June.

Ahead of the star-studded July wedding between Swift and Travis Kelce, Alwyn and Pidgeon, 30, were photographed canoodling at a park in London, England.

Barone, for her part, recently opened up about her bisexuality in an interview with Cosmopolitan, saying, “What’s crazy is I actually don’t even have a type.”

She then added, “Actually, no, I do — guys who aren’t nice to me. That’s my [boy] type. My girl type is girls [who] look like me.”

Barone previously found herself at the center of dating rumors with “Emily in Paris” actor Lucas Bravo after they were spotted together at a New York Knicks game in March.

However, she later joked that Netflix had orchestrated the whole thing as a “PR relationship” to promote her comedy special, “Galaxy Brain.”

“They handled everything,” Barone quipped on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in July. “Our first date was courtside at the Knicks. We went to the Cannes Film Festival, and we had to have sex a few times for legal reasons.

“We aren’t together anymore, though,” she added. “We just did the three-month contract.”
