Meghan Markle launches Instagram account on New Year’s Day with home video filmed by Prince Harry
Meghan Markle has made her Instagram return.
The Duchess of Sussex launched her account on the social media platform on New Year’s Day with a carefree video taken at a beach near her Montecito, Calif., home.
In the footage shot by her husband, Prince Harry, the “Suits” alum, 43, kept her back to the camera while running barefoot on the sand toward the waves.
Markle eventually stopped and bent down to trace the letters “2025” into the sand before giggling and jogging away.
The former actress, who wore an all-white outfit in the social media upload, disabled the ability to comment on the post.
However, Serena Williams, Chrissy Teigen, Tan France and more celebrities showed their support by “liking” it.
Page Six exclusively revealed in August 2023 that the “Deal or No Deal” alum had secured the @meghan Instagram handle.
The account boasted 113,000 followers when she posted Wednesday’s video — but Markle has yet to follow any other Instagram users.
Markle’s profile photo is a smiling black-and-white snap with her hair down.
A source told Page Six last year that Markle booted up the account back in August 2022 ahead of her “Archetypes” Spotify podcast, which was canceled after one season.
“Do you want to know a secret?” she said in an interview with The Cut at the time. “I’m getting back…on Instagram.”
Markle had not been on social media since getting engaged to Harry, 40, in November 2017.
The couple tied the knot in May of the following year, welcoming son Archie in 2019 before quitting the royal family and moving to America.
Daughter Lilibet joined the family in 2021.
Markle and Harry, who gave a rare glimpse of their children in their family’s Christmas card last month, have remained in the spotlight since coming to the United States.
Not only did the duo co-star in a Netflix documentary, but the former military pilot published his bombshell memoir, “Spare.”
Insiders told us in November 2024 that Markle is planning a major comeback this year.
In addition to starting a show with the streaming service about “cooking, gardening and entertaining,” she will launch the American Riviera Orchard brand she teased in March 2024.
