Meghan Markle takes a subtle dig at strict royal life — in front of Prince Harry — in Netflix show: ‘New chapter’

Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” is the fresh start she needed after she and husband Prince Harry took a step back from their royal duties in 2020.
At the end of the eight-episode series, which came out Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex gushed about her “new chapter” now that she can be a bit more creative again outside the confines of The Firm.
In the last episode, while speaking to her friends and family during a backward brunch, Markle “raised a glass” to the new path.
“This feels like a new chapter that I am so excited that I get to share,” she said. “I’ve been able to learn from all of you so just thank you for the love and support!”
“And here we go, there’s a business!” she continued, referencing her newly released lifestyle brand, As Ever.
“All of that is just part of that creativity that I’ve missed so much,” she added. “So, thank you for loving me so much and celebrating with me!”
Her husband, Prince Harry, and mom Doria Ragland both looked on proudly as the “Suits” alum toasted the group.
“Cheers, guys!” Markle said, as Harry cut in, “[Cheers] to you!”
In the closing credits, Markle gushed about how “grateful” she was for the experience, which helped her “reconnect with [her]self.”
Markle ran a lifestyle blog called the Tig — all about food, travel and wellness — from 2014 to 2017 but shut it down before her 2018 wedding to the red-headed royal.
“I loved The Tig, but I certainly love my husband more,” she told People in an interview published Monday. “So that was a choice I made at the time, and I wouldn’t change that for a second.”
Although Markle doesn’t regret forgoing her artistic side for a life of service, she is admittedly thrilled to get back to her artistic roots — and so is her husband.
“My husband met me when I had The Tig, and I see this spark in his eye when he sees me doing the thing that I was doing when he first met me,” she told the outlet.
Markle said Harry “loves watching” her work just as much as she loves “doing that creative process.”
“It’s almost like a honeymoon period again,” she gushed, “because it’s exactly how it was in the beginning when he’d watch me scribbling away, writing newsletters, fine-tuning edits and just really being in the details of it.
She added, “It’s just been fun. This is who I’ve always been.”
“With Love, Meghan” is available to stream on Netflix now.
