Meghan Trainor Admits to Using Weight-Loss Drug to ‘Help Me’ After 2nd Pregnancy

Meghan Trainor says that using a weight-loss drug helped her be the “healthiest, strongest version of myself.”
The “All About That Bass” singer, 31, took to Instagram on Monday, March 31, to share photos of her recent appearance at Billboard’s Women in Music event, where she was given the Hitmaker Award.
Trainor said, however, that “it’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here. This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry.”
The singer went on to reveal that she’s been on a personal health and fitness journey to become her best self after giving birth to her second child, son Barry Bruce, in July 2023. (Trainor and husband Daryl Sabara also share son Riley, 4.)
“No, I don’t look like I did 10 years ago. I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me,” she wrote.
Trainor added, “I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy. And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”
Mounjaro is the trade name for a tirzepatide, an antidiabetic medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved tirzepatide for weight-loss treatment in November 2023 and to treat moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in December 2024.
Trainor concluded her post, “Here’s to celebrating talent, growth, and the power of putting yourself first. Let’s keep shifting the convo to what REALLY matters.”
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Saturday, March 29, Billboard Women in Music event, Trainor credited her body transformation to science.
“Science is the secret,” she said. “I love it. I learned a lot of tricks that I had no idea [about].”
According to the “Dear Future Husband” singer, she was working out “so incorrectly for so long.”
“I was running and doing cardio, and my body was inflamed,” she explained, “always.”
Trainor joked that she was now trying to “biohack my body” and learn from science on the best way for her body to lose weight and stay healthy.
“Anything that’ll help me age backward, I’m into it,” she explained. “I just learned about the NADs [food supplement capsules]. I was like, ‘Make me Hailey Bieber, I’ll do it, I’ll take it.’ I’m trying all the things. I love a doctor explaining stuff to me.”
