Meghan Trainor unveils look-alike doll to help son Riley with separation anxiety
Meghan Trainor revealed she bought her son Riley a customized doll that looks like her to help with his separation anxiety.
“My sweet 5-year-old boy is having separation anxiety,” the “All About That Bass” songstress shared via an Instagram video Thursday.
“So he’s started using his stuffies, his Smurfette, and was like, ‘This is Mama, this is Mama,’ and I thought, ‘I’ll make a mama, I’ll make a stuffie that looks like Mama.’”
“The thing is, I did,” Trainor, 32, admitted before showing off the mini doll with short blond hair and glasses similar to hers.
“And he loves it. He kisses it, he hugs it,” she continued, as Riley ran over to her.
“Showing off your mama doll,” the hitmaker said. “Aw, you love it? You think this looks just like me?”
“Yup,” Riley replied while running away.
“She’s even got my thin hair, do you know what I mean?” Trainor told viewers. “Kinda looks like me, dude!”
The “Lips Are Movin’” singer shares Riley, along with a 3-year-old son, Barry, and a 6-month-old daughter, Mikey, with her husband, Daryl Sabara.
Trainor was scheduled to head on the road for her 2026 “Get in Girl” tour in June, but unexpectedly canceled two months prior “after a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations.”
“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories.
“I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans and I am so sorry to let you down,” the pop star added. “But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now.”
Trainor’s tour would’ve kicked off in Clarkston, Michigan, on June 12, and wrapped in Los Angeles on Aug. 15.
The “Made You Look” singer and Sabara secretly welcomed their daughter via surrogate in January.
“Surrogacy is just another beautiful way to build a family,” she told People at the time, explaining that surrogacy was the “safest way” for her and the “Spy Kids” star to “continue growing [their] family.”
