Megyn Kelly blasts Meghan McCain’s support of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 2026 halftime show
Megyn Kelly slammed Meghan McCain for showing support for Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show performance.
“As if we needed further assurance that the ‘taste levels’ of conservative America do not align with @MeghanMcCain’s,” the political commentator wrote on X on Monday.
McCain initially shared a heartfelt reaction after the Puerto Rican artist’s set during Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday.
“I’m sorry but I just genuinely question your taste level if you didn’t enjoy the Bad Bunny halftime show. And everything in life doesn’t have to be ruined with politics,” the former “The View” co-host penned via X.
Following Kelly’s criticism, fans quickly took to the comments section to share their varying opinions.
“I didn’t like the song at all..not for any political reason..just couldn’t get into it..not my style of music,” one person replied, while a second added, “Like she said everything doesn’t have to be political. Just give it a rest.”
“People are allowed to disagree with you,” another social media user shared. “That doesn’t make them your enemy. You don’t have to constantly be on the attack. There’s so much joy in this life…dip your toe in the water.”
Piers Morgan also jumped into the conversation, writing via social media that he “agreed” with McCain.
The English broadcaster also made his opinion known with Kelly on Monday’s episode of “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”
“I’m sorry Piers, but to get up there and perform the whole show in Spanish is a middle finger to the rest of America,” Kelly argued. “Who gives a damn that we have 40 million Spanish speakers in the United States; we have 310 million who don’t speak a lick of Spanish.”
She added that it wasn’t about “what he was actually going to do during the middle of the Super Bowl performance.”
“It’s about him. It’s about him being chosen as the Super Bowl performer. Somebody who’s been an outspoken critic, of course, of the Trump administration and of America,” she explained.
“We want something that we can all understand. I don’t think Bad Bunny used his appearance to bash America, but I can’t be sure because I didn’t see any subcaptions on his Spanish-language performance.”
During his performance, Bad Bunny paid homage to his roots while singing mostly in Spanish, alongside Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
Turning Point USA held its own halftime show during Bad Bunny’s performance in protest. Their lineup featured Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.
