Melissa Gorga gives update on ‘RHONJ’ filming status after show was put on pause
Melissa Gorga confessed to Page Six that the future of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” is still up in the air.
When asked if she has filmed recently for the Bravo show — which was put on hiatus last year as producers revamp the cast — the reality star told hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy at the “Virtual Reali-Tea” Awards sponsored by Tri-State Cadillac and Malibu Wednesday night, “I cannot confirm or deny.”
“The truth is, they’re figuring it out. I know you don’t want to hear this — none of us want to hear this. I wish I had better answers for you, but they’re figuring it out,” Gorga, 46, added.
The “RHONJ” star — who appeared on the hit show for 12 seasons — said she is “waiting for them to make a decision, as well, just like all of you.”
Gorga was one of three veterans seen “test filming” with new cast members recently, per Us Weekly.
An insider told the outlet that producers “want to see how the new girls work on camera with some veteran cast members from the show,” also pointing out that Teresa Giudice’s absence from the reported shoot was not an indication that she was officially off the show.
The “Turning the Tables” author, 53, Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Fessler “are still in consideration to be part of the new season,” according to the insider.
Danielle Cabral — who appeared on the two most recent seasons of “RHONJ” — exclusively told Page Six at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month that she was confident producers would “get it right this time.”
The Boujie Kidz founder, 40, did not disclose whether she would be back for the series, but hinted that cameras would likely be up soon, stating, “I think it’s gonna happen a lot faster than what you guys think.”
“I really hope to God it’s back to the good, ol’ days: Christmas, Halloween, the holidays. So hang tight. Wait a little longer, I promise!” she added.
Gorga, for her part, seemed open to renewing her contract, pointing out at the “VRT” Awards Wednesday, “We are very much so a family on ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey.’”
“We love each other. We’ve been together for many years and it’s sad that we’re on this pause. It’s a long pause. It’s like, let’s go,” the Envy store owner added.
However, Gorga is not keen on making amends with her co-star and sister-in-law, Giudice, anytime soon.
When asked to respond to the “House of Villains” alum’s remarks that she would be open to a reconciliation, the Let’s Sprinkle by MG founder said, “The truth is, for the last year, the door has been closed. … So, the truth is, I’m just confused why it might be opening or cracking a little bit.”
Gorga further pointed out, “Neither of us have had any contact in probably two years at this point, so that’s just so strange to come out with that out of nowhere.”
