The Bold Type alums are still in contact years after the show ended!

Melora Hardin exclusively told PEOPLE at the April 8 red carpet premiere of former costar Meghann Fahy’s new film Drop that The Bold Type cast texts, calls and talks to each other about their lives and careers.

“We just talked on the phone yesterday, and yeah, we’re friends — we’re good friends,” Hardin, 57, who played Scarlet editor-in-chief Jacqueline Carlyle on the show, said of her relationship with Fahy, 34, who played the fictional magazine’s fashion stylist Sutton Brady-Hunter.

“She loves me, and I have what she wants, and she’s going to have it and more,” Hardin added. “She’s just like sailing, and I love watching her star rise. It’s really, really exciting. I knew she had it in her.”

The Office alum similarly revealed that she’s in touch with Katie Stevens and Aisha Dee, who played staff editor Jane Sloan and social media director Kat Edison, respectively, on The Bold Type. “We’re all very close,” Hardin explained.

The Little House on the Prairie star also shared whether they have all talked about getting back together for a reboot or spinoff of The Bold Type.

“Oh, it would be great. I know, we would love it. The fans would love it,” Hardin said. “You never know. I think Meghann is now off on a little different trajectory, so that would be probably tough for her. But I think maybe, who knows, maybe we could do a Bold Type movie or something, that could be fun. Something funny and fun.”

The Bold Type ran for five seasons, from 2017 to 2021.

Fahy’s Drop, costarring Brandon Sklenar, came out April 11 — and Hardin was “so excited” to support Fahy at the film’s red carpet premiere.

“This is a really big deal, a really big night, amazing big studio picture, and she’s the star of it, and she’s amazing,” Hardin said of The White Lotus alum. “I told her years ago, I was like, ‘If you want it, you can have it.’ ”

As for Hardin, she has recently been busy working on a documentary and starring in the Broadway show McNeal.

“I just got off Broadway with Robert Downey Jr. in McNeal at Lincoln Center. That was a real bucket list item,” Hardin told PEOPLE. “It was Robert’s Broadway debut, and to play opposite him was incredible, and that was amazing.”
