MGK sparks concern after admitting he eats only ‘a couple times a week’

Fans are worried about Machine Gun Kelly after he broke down his diet — or lack thereof.
In a casual video interview shared by Instagram account HipHop-N-More last month, MGK, 35, told a small group of guys, “I don’t really eat. I just do water a bunch.”
Shocked, the men asked if that means he fasts, which MGK confirmed with a head shake.
“Like, I ate that burger ’cause we’re streaming, and it’s my man’s s–t, you know?” he replied, prompting one of the guys to ask, “OK, if we weren’t streaming, what would you have had for dinner?”
The musician — who dabbles in rock, rap and pop — responded, “Probably water.”
The group could not believe their ears. “But how? You don’t ever feel weak or lightheaded?” one of them wondered.
“Yeah, sometimes. I’ll eat, like, a couple times a week,” the actor confessed, elaborating that those meals will consist of “bone broth with kimchi and sauerkraut.”
“‘Cause it has probiotics, you know?” he continued. “So, like, when you do those water fasts, the only thing that’s crazy is it kills all the good bacteria in you, too, so you gotta put the pro[biotics].”
Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish consisting of fermented vegetables, most commonly Napa cabbage and Korean radish.
Sauerkraut, meanwhile, is shredded cabbage that’s fermented with lactic acid bacteria.
During fermentation, microorganisms like bacteria or yeast break down sugars and starches in the absence of oxygen to produce various byproducts like acids, gases and alcohols.
Both kimchi and sauerkraut contain probiotics, which are live microorganisms like bacteria or yeast that provide health benefits; however, they are low in calories and macronutrients, which are essential to organ function.
MGK added that he often cooks his kimchi and sauerkraut in bone broth, a nutrient-rich liquid made by simmering animal bones, connective tissue and sometimes meat.
“Do you drink green juice and s–t, too?” one of his friends asked, to which he explained, “I’ll drink celery juice sometimes, yeah. Coconut water.”
The father of two — who shares 16-year-old daughter Casie with Emma Cannon and 4-month-old daughter Saga with Megan Fox — made sure to note that “coffee and cigarettes” are also staples of his diet.
Netizens were quick to express concern, with many claiming, “Bro is describing anorexia” and “Today I learned MGK has an eating disorder.”
Someone else argued, “he is literally malnourished and his daily diet consists of Cigarettes and coffees.”
Reps for the star, who celebrated one year of sobriety in August 2024, did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
