NEED TO KNOW

- A confrontation shows that hurt feelings run deep for both MomTokers
Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt had a pretty serious rift before taking the dance floor together.
Season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives picks up with the once close duo experiencing a distance that neither seems to understand.
“I’m really conflicted with my relationship with Whitney because a couple of months ago, she really was the only person that was there for me during the lowest point of my life, but the minute I left MomTok, I never heard from her,” Jen shares in a confessional.
“And then she became best friends with Demi, the one person that was bullying me during that time.”

Whitney’s close bond with season 2 villain Demi Engemann gives pause to several members of MomTok. While some claim Whitney left the group, she says she was being iced out, particularly in a conversation with Jen.
“I feel like you’re just gone… I did feel like it was transactional on your end,” she says of their bond.
“Wow, that is like… I don’t even know how to relate to that,” Whitney replies.
“It’s only what’s convenient for you,” Jen says. “You’re there for me if it’s convenient for you, to get back into MomTok.”
Whitney is offended by the claim, telling Jen, “I’m so done with it. It’s so delusional.”
“If you were really there for me and you weren’t just using me to get back into MomTok, why would you then become friends with Demi, the one person that was bullying me during that time.”
Whitney claims not to understand what Demi ever did to Jen, to which the mom of three, 26, points to Demi’s snarky TikToks about Jen and her marriage, while “trying to get the whole group to turn against me.”
“I’m just saying I expected more from you,” Jen levels, though Whitney maintains she only became close to Demi after Jen “ghosted” her. The two continue to go back and forth, but ultimately decide the conversation was going nowhere.
In a confessional, Jen says, “I definitely think Whitney is only here for herself and her own opportunities, and that our friendships within the group were actually never real or genuine to her.”
Whitney is unabashed about being motivated by opportunity this season, and cites her argument with Jen as a reason why that’s the case.
“This is exactly why I didn’t want to come back, but there’s this amazing opportunity, Dancing With The Stars, and it’s something that I want. So I’m going to go after it, and there’s no shame.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3 is now streaming on Hulu.
