Ne-Yo breaks down ‘hard work’ behind relationship with three girlfriends
Let me love (all three of) you.
Ne-Yo explained the “hard work” behind his “one relationship with three women” on Wednesday’s “Sherri” episode.
The “So Sick” singer, 46, noted that he chose to pursue polyamory after his “ugly” divorce from ex-wife Crystal Renay.
“I made the decision that I was never going to tell another lie to a woman ever again in life,” he told host Sherri Shepherd. “I own the thing that I did in that marriage to mess it up. I own it completely. And I decided I didn’t want to be the reason that anybody ever felt like that ever again.”
Ne-Yo recalled approaching the girlfriend he had been with longest, proposing, “Listen, you know I rock with you. You know I love you, but I have to be honest with you. It’s not just you.
“I would love for you to meet these other women, and if we can figure out a way to do something together, cool,” he continued. “If not, that’s cool, too.”
When everyone “chose to stick around,” the group figured out how to “make everything work.”
He added, “Everybody gets their individual time, but group time is just as important as individual time.”
As for holidays like Valentine’s Day, Ne-Yo specified that he doesn’t give “blanket” presents to his partners.
“I have to make sure I get a gift for each of them that matches who they are,” the songwriter said. “As far as where we go, what we do, that we decide together. We go to one restaurant, concert, whatever it is we’re doing.”
When Shepherd, 58, observed that this seemed like “more work than with one woman,” Ne-Yo clapped back that he has “never been afraid of hard work.”
He also clarified that while his girlfriend’s can’t “date other men,” he did not make this mandatory — they “gave their exclusivity … and that’s that.”
Ne-Yo revealed his polyamorous relationship in March 2025 — and was dating Arielle Hill, Brionna Williams, Cristina and Moneii at the time.
“Since the world is so intrigued, I guess I should introduce my loves properly. LADIES AND GENTS I PRESENT MY PYRAMID,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “We happy over here.”
The performer did not specify on Wednesday which of the four women is no longer in the picture.
