New video shows Shia LaBeouf getting pummeled in New Orleans before arrest
A new video shows the moment Shia LaBeouf was beaten up outside a New Orleans bar shortly before his arrest this week.
The “Holes” star, 39, was seen shirtless and rolling around on the ground with only one shoe on as four men held him down, according to footage obtained by TMZ on Tuesday.
But as LaBeouf struggled to climb back to his feet, a man stepped into frame and delivered two punches to his face while warning the actor to stay down.
“We gon’ beat the f–k out you, boy,” the man shouted. “Chill!”
“Cut that s–t out,” another person yelled in LaBeouf’s face as he sat up on the street. “You need to cut that s–t out!”
The shocking clip ends shortly after the “Transformers” star attempted to stand up again – only for two men to hold him down by his back and shoulders.
LaBeouf’s reps did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The new footage of LaBeouf getting pummeled on the streets of New Orleans comes shortly after Page Six confirmed that the Disney Channel alum was arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery in the Louisiana city on Tuesday.
TMZ had obtained footage of the actor being treated by paramedics after the altercation captured in the new clip, although it is still unclear what led to the scary incident.
The actor, who has long been vocal about his addiction struggles and journey to stay sober, had reportedly been in New Orleans for Mardi Gras celebrations since Thursday, per the Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, a doorman at the dive bar Ms. Mae’s told the outlet on Monday that the “Disturbia” star was “somewhat belligerent” when he approached the 24/7 establishment without a shirt and cash.
The doorman, Robert Skuse, claimed that LaBeouf did the “do you know who I am?” charade upon being denied entry into Ms. Mae’s.
LaBeouf, who was said to have finally put on a shirt and paid with a credit card, was allegedly asked to leave after trying to “be a celebrity bartender,” according to employee Kyle Catarouch.
A bartender from another establishment, meanwhile, told THR that the “Indiana Jones” star was “terrorizing” New Orleans.
Other Big Easy hotspots that LaBeouf was said to be spotted at on Fat Monday included Dos Jefes, 45 Tchoup, Brothers III Lounge and R Bar.
LaBeouf was being held without bond and was scheduled to stand before a judge at 3 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
Nearly four years before his latest arrest, in an email published by Variety in August 2022, LaBeouf announced that he had been sober for more than a year and a half after a “great humbling.”
The “Even Stevens” alum also touched upon his struggles with alcoholism shortly after FKA Twigs, whom he dated from 2018 to 2019, filed a bombshell lawsuit against him alleging sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress in December 2022.
“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations,” he told the New York Times after his ex’s lawsuit was filed.
“I am committed to doing what I need to do to recover, and I will forever be sorry to the people that I may have harmed along the way,” LaBeouf added at the time.
