New York Man Arrested at Westminster Dog Show on Burglary, Grand Larceny Charges

A man was arrested at the Westminster Dog Show in New York City for multiple cases of burglary, grand larceny, petit larceny and false personation, according to police.

Bronx resident Allan Jackson was at the Westminster Dog Show at the Jacob Javits Center in midtown Manhattan on Sunday, January 31, when investigators noticed he fit the description of a suspect who was wanted for several thefts at the convention center, according to a news release.

After the man unsuccessfully tried to enter the ticketed show while impersonating someone else, he was approached by authorities and was questioned.

Jackson, 60, was then arrested for three previous incidents, as well as the false impersonation during the most recent incident at the convention center. The first time Jackson ran into issues with the law regarding his recent arrest dates was back to November 2025, according to police.

Following his arrest, he was transported to the NYPD 10th Precinct for processing. He was then taken to Manhattan Central Booking to be arraigned. Jackson is next scheduled to appear in court on Friday, February 6, according to online records viewed by Us Weekly.

Police confirmed that Jackson has been charged with class D felony burglary 3rd degree, two counts of class E felony grand larceny 4th degree, class A misdemeanor petit larceny and class B misdemeanor false personation.

Jackson is currently being held at the Eric M Taylor Center in the Bronx on $20,000 bail or $50,000 bond, according to online records viewed by Us Weekly. A mug shot was not immediately available of the suspect.

It is not currently clear if Jackson has entered a plea or retained legal representation following his recent arrest.

Jackson was previously arrested in Manhattan in May 2025 regarding a grand larceny case, according to online records. After he chose to not attend a hearing on January 29, 2025, regarding the case, the judge issued an arrest warrant. Due to the warrant, authorities were on high alert at the convention center.

The Westminster Kennel Club event is annually held at the Jacob Javits Center. The 2026 event marks the 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, which kicked off on January 31. The event is also being held on Monday, February 2, and Tuesday, February 3.

The Westminster Kennel Club is “America’s oldest organization dedicated to the sport of dogs,” according to the website.

The popular annual dog show features a competition for purebred dogs, as well as the Masters Agility Championship and Masters Obedience Championship. Throughout the competition, dogs from all backgrounds compete against each other as canine enthusiasts from around the world gather to see the dogs.

The website adds that the club’s mission is to enhance the lives of all dogs, to celebrate the companionship of dogs, promote responsible dog ownership and breed preservation.
