Nicola Peltz insisted Victoria Beckham be kept in the dark during wedding ‘s–tshow’: lawsuit

After Brooklyn Beckham’s disastrous wedding to Nicola Peltz, a lawsuit brought by fired wedding planners exposed the Peltz clan’s apparent rift with Victoria Beckham.

According to documents in the 2023 lawsuit over the model’s Florida nuptials in April 2022, the Beckham family had their guest list “fully organized with all contact information fully revised and nearly ready to go,” while the Peltz family list was incomplete and missing addresses.

“Nicola continued sending text messages in a [group chat] adding and removing certain guests — making the task of creating a comprehensive and complete guest list a moving target,” the docs stated.

Meanwhile, the Peltz clan — including Nicola’s billionaire dad, Nelson, and mom, Claudia — seemed concerned with making sure the Beckhams weren’t aware of any issues.

“Both Claudia and Nicola had insisted that Victoria Beckham could not know about any internal mistakes regarding the ongoing planning of her son’s wedding, including any errors with the guest list,” the lawsuit read.

Wedding planners Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba of Plan Design Events (PDE), who were brought into the wedding just six weeks before the event and cut loose nine days later, claimed breach of contract in the countersuit — Nelson claimed in a previous lawsuit that they refused to return a deposit of $159,000.

Nelson — whom Braghin and Grijalba labeled a “billionaire bully” in the docs — was frustrated enough to threaten to “cancel the wedding,” which he labelled a “s–t show,” they claimed.

“Claudia begged Nelson not to cancel the wedding because it would ‘destroy Nicola’s career,’” the docs claimed.

Nelson — who alleged in his own lawsuit that the planners offered “no services of value” and “justifiably” wanted a refund, called the countersuit a “good old-fashioned shakedown” in documents of his own.

The wedding planners asked for “even more money for services that Defendants did not provide,” the docs obtained by Page Six in March 2023 alleged.

Lawyers for the billionaire also accused the planners of “shamefully” attempting to “falsely portray Nicola in an extremely negative light to entice the media and hopefully pressure Mr. Peltz to dismiss his well-founded claims,” the docs read.

Braghin told the Daily Mail at the time, “We love what we do and we’re good at it” and claimed Nicola texted them, “You’re killing it!” a day prior to their firing.

Amid the drama, the couple’s previous wedding planner, Preston Bailey, offered a different view of Nicola, whom he called “great,” and her family.

Bailey was hired in April 2021 and resigned on March 1, 2022, telling Page Six at the time that he had “overcommitted.”

I couldn’t deliver to the quality I was used to,” he said. “I have the best to say about the Peltzes and Nicola. There wasn’t any bad blood.” Of the Peltz family, he said, “They are lovely people. These people are important to me.”

Brooklyn and Nicola ultimately settled the lawsuits in September 2023. “The parties believe that this contract dispute between Nelson Peltz and Plan Design should be resolved on the terms agreed,” Grijalba and Nicole Braghin told People in a statement.

“As part of the settlement, PDE will make a donation in the name of Nicola and Brooklyn to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund.”

“PDE wishes Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham happiness and a fruitful life together,” the statement concluded, with the outlet reporting that both lawsuits were “dismissed with prejudice.”

Brooklyn made headlines on Monday when he released a lengthy Instagram statement blasting Victoria and David for allegedly controlling “narratives in the press about our family” and stating that he does not “want to reconcile” with his family.

He also accused his fashion designer mom of cancelling “making Nicola’s [wedding] dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress” and “hijacking” his first dance with his new wife before dancing “very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.”

“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” the aspiring chef added.

A guest at the nuptials previously told Page Six that the family feud came to a head when Marc Anthony, who performed at the celebration, summoned Brooklyn to dance with Victoria, “the most beautiful woman in the room,” and Nicola was hurt.

They told Page Six that Victoria “got up on stage and wrapped her arms around Brooklyn” and “nuzzled into his neck.”

“She took that moment from Nicola, that is the God’s truth,” they added, noting that the bride “ran out crying.”

“The Beckhams’ side of the room was cheering and the Peltz side was quiet,” they alleged.
