The couple attended the opening night of Broadway’s Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends at Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in New York City Tuesday, April 8, where they posed for pictures on the red carpet.
Just ahead of their smiley photo session, Broadway.com captured a sweet moment where Galvin, 30, gently perfected his husband’s hair. Platt, 31, and Galvin both re-posted the adorable footage to their own Instagram Stories.

As the Tony Award winner marked his 31st birthday later that month, Galvin celebrated his husband with carousel of photos and videos on Instagram, including moments from their wedding.
“It’s my HUSBANDS birthday. There is nobody gentler or more giving,” Galvin wrote in a caption to the post. “Just this year @bensplatt toured the country, reopened the palace, held me during some s—– times, MARRIED me, AND got a mullet!”
“I love my sexy best friend more than words can say. Safety is home and home is Benny,” he added. “I love you for the rest of time cool?”
Platt himself left a simple “☺️” emoji in a comment on Galvin’s post, while the couple’s friend Beanie Feldstein commented, “Just love him so much this round up is too sweet — also Ben has really become a DANCER.”

Directed by Matthew Bourne, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends is a loving homage to the legendary late composer, showcasing songs from many of his iconic musicals. Devised by producer Cameron Mackintosh, the show first ran in London’s West End back in September 2023, and played in Los Angeles this past February ahead of its move to Broadway.
Led by Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga, Old Friends also features their fellow Broadway veterans Beth Leavel, Gavin Lee, Jacob Dickey, Kevin Earley, Jasmine Forsberg, Kate Jennings Grant, Bonnie Langford, Maria Wirries, Daniel Yearwood and more.
“It’s a beautiful show and so much fun and everybody really likes each other and loves working on it,” Salonga, 54, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue of her seventh Broadway credit.
Tickets for Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends are on sale now at manhattantheatreclub.com.
