“Outer Banks” director Jonas Pate has been accused of grabbing and screaming at a female production assistant as actors Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline intervened

The incident allegedly took place while the Netflix series was filming its fifth and final season in Dubrovnik, Croatia, according to TMZ.

Pate, 55, allegedly shook the female PA while shouting in her face, which prompted Stokes, who portrays John B on “Outer Banks,” to jump in and separate them.

The outlet reported that Cline, who plays John B’s love interest, Sarah Cameron, on the series, also intervened to aid in de-escalating the situation.

Several production sources told the outlet that Pate’s alleged behavior was not “unusual.”

One source told TMZ, “It’s about time that it’s made public.”

Page Six has reached out to Netflix, Pate, Cline and Stokes for comment.

Jonas co-created “Outer Banks,” a show about a group of teens who searched for a treasure linked to the disappearance of John B’s father, with Josh Pate and Shannon Burke.

The first season premiered in 2020 and three more seasons followed in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

The show faced criticism when main character JJ — played by Rudy Pankow — was killed off in the finale of Season 4.

However, Jonas defended the storyline, saying that it was destined for JJ’s character to die.

“It’s been kind of lurking in his DNA from the beginning. He’s really a tragic figure, and the idea of mortality, and you only have a finite window — it’s also a theme of the show,” he told The Hollywood Reporter last November.

“It’s something John B has talked about from the first season. So believe it or not, this is something that was always sort of baked in the cake, and we just wanted to tell the story as elegantly and interestingly as possible.”

The fifth and final season of “Outer Banks” is expected to be released in 2026.
