Pals protest that Jill Zarin was fired for saying what half the country thinks about Bad Bunny

Jill Zarin was fired just for saying what half the nation — including the President — thinks, according to sources close to the axed reality star.

Just days ago Page Six revealed that the reality veteran was part of an exciting project in which the classic cast of “The Real Housewives of New York” will return to TV, but on an entirely new show.

But on Sunday night Zarin posted a video online in which she said of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Half Time show, “We all agree — it was the worst halftime show ever. It’s 250 years that we’re celebrating right now in the United States, and I just don’t think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish.”

She added that the performance “looked like a political statement, because there were literally no white people in the entire thing.”

On Tuesday Variety reported that E!, the network set to air “The Golden Life,” has fired her from the show.

Sources close to Zarin tell Page Six that she’s disappointed by the move because her view was a widespread one.

“A lot of people were not happy about the Bad Bunny show,” said an insider familiar with Zarin’s thinking, “Megyn Kelly had a viral video slamming it. Whether you like him or not, the President of the United states slammed it.”

After Sunday’s performance during the Seahawks vs. Patriots game, President Trump called the mostly Spanish performance “a slap in the face” of America, saying, “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying.”

Kelly, meanwhile, racked up millions of views in a vitriolic video in which she called the show a “middle finger” to Americans.

“E! completely overreacted,” said our insider, “If they’d waited a week, it would have been fine. The show doesn’t air for nine months.”

The source said that reps for Zarin even suggested that E! use the drama around the post into the first episode of the new show.

“Jill said what half the country was saying, but she got fired for it,” they added.
