Patrick Mahomes Praises Taylor Swift for ‘Inspiring Billions and Millions of People’

There’s more than one Kansas City Chiefs superstar singing the praises of Taylor Swift.

In a video shared via X on Tuesday, February 5, that captured Patrick Mahomes speaking at a recent Chiefs press conference, the quarterback, 29, shared his honest thoughts on Travis Kelce’s famous girlfriend.

When asked by a reporter whether he’d prefer to have, “Patrick Mahomes’ scoring ability, Taylor Swift’s singing ability or Steph Curry’s shooting ability,” Patrick was definitive in his response.

“Taylor Swift’s singing ability … it’s not even close,” Patrick said into the mic. The answer sparked further quizzing by the reporter, who challenged him with, “What about that arm though?” referencing Patrick’s remarkable athletic ability.

Patrick responded, “I mean, the arm’s awesome but, I mean, I’m not inspiring billions and millions of people.”

Pushed further to comment on the Golden State Warriors’ Curry, 36, labeled by the reporter as “the greatest shooter of all time,” Patrick expanded further. “I mean, I love Steph, man, he’s the greatest shooter of all time, but he’s not Taylor Swift,” Patrick quipped with a laugh.

Patrick’s candid comments come on the back of joking about the potential for Swift, 35, to perform at the forthcoming Super Bowl, staged on Sunday, February 9. “As long as Trav is playing and we are in the Super Bowl, that’s going to be hard for her to do the halftime show,” Patrick said during a Monday, February 3, press conference. “Hopefully Trav keeps playing and we keep making it to the Super Bowl.” (Kendrick Lamar is set to perform during this year’s event.)

Swift, who began dating Kelce, 35, in summer 2023, has forged a strong bond with Patrick and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, over the past 18 months. In October 2023, the singer sat with the entire Mahomes family during the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Patrick’s mom, brother and Brittany, 29, were spotted at the game alongside Brittany and Patrick’s two children, Sterling, 3, and Bronze, 2. (The couple also have a third child, daughter, Golden, who was born three weeks ago.)

More recently, Swift and Kelce were seen happily chatting with Brittany and Patrick as the couples attended the US Open’s men’s single final as a foursome in September 2024.

The Mahomes were also seen spending some down time at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion in August 2024, along with the likes of Blake Lively, husband Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper.
