Patrick Mahomesâ mom cries over sonâs fame, admits sheâs âjealousâ of friendsâ kids: ‘We just want to be normal’

Patrick Mahomes’ mom just wants to live a “normal” life.
Randi Martin recently appeared on “The Mom Game Podcast,” where she admitted that being the mother of a famous three-time Super Bowl champion is so stressful that she sometimes cries.
“As much as I say that we’re blessed and Patrick’s living his dream, it has been the hardest seven years of my adult life,” she said. “It’s been really hard to juggle … I’ve cried a lot. I’ve struggled with it.”
She even said she’s “jealous” of her friends and their kids who get to lead more “normal” lives.
“We just want to be normal and go and have dinner and we don’t do that,” she explained. “My daughter [Mia] and I, living in our town, we rarely go.”
Randi shares Patrick, 28, and her 24-year-old son, Jackson, with her ex-husband, Pat Mahomes. She resides in Texas with her 12-year-old daughter, Mia, from a previous relationship.
Randi, 48, also explained how her professional life as an event planner is affected by her son’s fame. She said she has so many people trying to get in contact with their family by finding her phone number and email.
Although Patrick’s fame has been a difficult adjustment for the family ever since he joined the NFL in 2017, Randi said she tries not to let her stress affect her kids.
“[Patrick is] working his tail off every day … doing what he needs to do and has his family and kids,” she stated.
For his part, Patrick is the proud father of son Bronze, 1, and daughter Sterling, 3.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shares them with his high school sweetheart and wife, Brittany Mahomes.
During Randi’s podcast interview, she also mentioned Jackson being put “through the ringer” while in the spotlight, which likely referred to his May 2023 arrest.
He was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery at the time for an incident involving the owner of the Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Kansas.
He was sentenced to six months of probation after pleading no contest to a simple battery charge in March of this year.
“It’s one day at a time,” the mother of three explained about her situation. “I’ve cried myself to sleep reading some of the things that I know that my kids see. .. I’ve kept my close friends close … it’s really been hard.”
