Pete Davidson breaks silence on becoming a dad

Pete Davidson expressed his joy over becoming a father — days after his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, announced she’s pregnant with their first child.

“I’m very lucky and very, very happy,” the “Saturday Night Live” alum told E! News at the New York premiere of “The Home” on Tuesday.

Davidson added that he’s looking forward to “being able to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have. I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have, and what you didn’t like, not do it.”

The “Bupkis” actor — whose own father, Scott, died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks — said he has the support of friends, including Adam Sandler.

“Everybody’s just been super excited for me, because they know it’s been my dream,” the comedian, 31, told the outlet.

“They all just have been like, ‘You’re going to be great at this. It’s the best thing you’ll ever do in your life,’” he shared, adding that Sandler — a father of two himself — gave him “some great advice.”

“It’s been really nice that everyone’s super excited,” the “King of Staten Island” star said.

“When you do something, when we do anything, you want everyone to be excited, especially having a child.”

The London-born model and actress, 29, announced the baby news on Instagram last Wednesday, sharing a carousel of photos and a clip of herself at an ultrasound appointment.

In the first snap, a shirtless Davidson nuzzled Hewitt’s ear and cradled her stomach.

“welp now everyone knows we had sex,” Hewitt captioned the post. Page Six broke the news in March that the couple was dating.

Davidson previously called fatherhood a “dream” he hoped to achieve.

“[I’m] definitely a family guy. My favorite thing ever — which I’ve yet to achieve — is I want to have a kid,” the actor told Kevin Hart on “Hart to Heart” in 2022.

“I’m so excited for that chapter,” he continued, explaining that he hoped to “develop and get better, so when that happens it’ll be easier.”

Davidson will have no shortage of support, as a source told us last week that the comedian’s family “is thrilled.”
