Porsha Williams Says She’s ‘Hopeful’ NeNe Leakes Will Return to ‘RHOA’ After ‘Ultimate Girls Trip’ (Exclusive)

Porsha Williams hopes NeNe Leakes’ appearance on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 6 won’t be the last of her return to Bravo.

“We’re very hopeful,” Porsha, 45, exclusively told Us at the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip 20th Anniversary Event on Tuesday, August 4, when asked about the rumors that NeNe, 58, is potentially coming back to Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“But you know, we’ve got a great cast,” the reality star continued. “But yeah, me personally, yes, I would love for NeNe to come back.”

Rumors first swirled in January that NeNe would be making a cameo in RHUGT season 6, a.k.a. The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th. Andy Cohen later confirmed the news on his SiriusXM Radio Andy broadcast.

“She’s gonna be making an appearance,” Cohen, 58, said at the time.

Fans got a first look at NeNe’s cameo earlier this month in a clip shared by Bravo. In the video, NeNe helped Porsha pack her bags for her cross-country adventure with Teresa Giudice, Vicki Gunvalson, Kyle Richards, Gizelle Bryant, Lisa Barlow and Luann de Lesseps.

“How dare we celebrate 20 years as Housewives and leave out the Nene Leakes?” Porsha said in a confessional. “The queen herself will be making an appearance when we enter Atlanta.”

Porsha told Us that it had “been a while” since she opened her door to see NeNe on the other side.

“It felt like right back at home,” she shared. “We haven’t skipped a step, didn’t miss a beat, and of course she was like, ‘I gotta gather you real quick. Let me get you together.’ You know what I mean? Like, that’s the energy that Atlanta has been missing, and I’m glad we could bring that to Ultimate Girls Trip.”

NeNe starred on RHOA from seasons 1 through 7 and 10 through 12.

“The last time we saw NeNe was season 12. That was the reunion during the pandemic, and she did the close of the laptop,” Porsha said in the Bravo clip.

She then told NeNe, “This whole thing is about iconic Housewives, but what about the iconic Housewife? For you, after all this time, to come back for the 20-year anniversary is huge.”

NeNe gushed about her RHUGT cameo via Instagram in January.

“This has been a really long, long journey, and gosh, I’m happy, overjoyed to say that I will be returning to Bravo,” she said in a video. “I almost can’t believe the words that are coming out of my mouth. I’m so happy.”

RHUGT: Roaring 20th will see the franchise’s iconic cast members travel through multiple cities, including Orange County, Beverly Hills, Atlanta, Miami and New York City. The season premieres on Sunday, August 9, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
