Princess Beatrice jets to Cannes Lions fest on economy flight, carries her own luggageÂ
Her Royal Highness is not high-maintenance.
Princess Beatrice flew to the 2024 Cannes Lions Festival via EasyJet, the UK’s popular low-cost airline, an eyewitness tells Page Six.
The 35-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson came from London Luton Airport — a very small, less flashy counterpart to the city’s famed Heathrow Airport — and carried her own luggage when schlepping to the South of France, the spy adds.
The granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II — who works full-time as vice president of partnerships and strategy for the software brand Afiniti — came to Cannes to participate in the “Emotional Intelligence in the AI Age” panel at Spotify Beach with the music platform’s chief public affairs officer, Dustee Jenkins.
During the conversation, Beatrice shared how her struggles with dyslexia played a role in her desire to pursue a career in the tech space.
“Technology in general, it really gave me a space to really be myself… You know, I got dyslexia, [so] I always was fascinated by how things worked, that was the way that my brain worked,” she explained. “I was a very visual learner.”
Beatrice added, “It doesn’t matter where you’re coming from, what you’re doing. If you can deliver… that for me is the most exciting thing about the technology sector.”
Jenkins – whom the princess called her “hero” — expressed gratitude to watch her “dear friend” in action, relishing in the latter’s new role as an adviser to her team at Spotify.
“We have benefited tremendously because she’s looking to create mentorships, networking, entrepreneurship — at the same time, understanding technology,” the exec raved.
Elsewhere, Beatrice enthused over the opportunity to make her voice heard at Cannes Lions, which convenes powerhouses in marketing, advertising, media and more industries.
“It’s a wonder to behold, the moment to be with each other and we are reminded that some of these most important conversations have to happen with human-to-human interactions,” she told panel attendees.
“They have to happen in a place like this, to be able to sort of awaken your consciousness to make sure that you’re ready to take it on. So I’m very grateful to be here.”
