Rachael Kirkconnell Says Matt James Is ‘Gonna Make Me Cry’ as He Gushes Over Her in Sweet New Video

Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell are more in love than ever.

On Sunday, Nov. 3 after the TCS New York City Marathon, James and Kirkconnell were stopped by the viral social media account meetcutesnyc and were asked questions about their relationship — which prompted James, 32, to give an answer so sweet Kirkconnell, 28, almost teared up.

They introduced themselves as having met on The Bachelor “four years ago” and then were each asked what their favorite thing is about the other.

“Ooh, that’s so tough. There’s so many things that I love,” Kirkconnell said. “You just make everything brighter, for sure. He has a very, very bright personality and he makes me a better person.”

James was equally flattering in his response, as he said of his girlfriend, “She’s my best friend. She’s my biggest advocate. There’s nothing that she wouldn’t do for me, so just the selflessness.”

The former Bachelor star then gave Kirkconnell — who he has been dating since meeting her on the show in 2020 — a sweet kiss on the top of her head.

She was then asked what the best and worst part was about having a boyfriend who ran the marathon, to which she complained about “getting woken up at 3 a.m.” on the day of the race, but said that the best part was “seeing him accomplish what he’s been working so hard to do for so long.”

The video ended with the couple being asked what they’re most excited for in the future, and James and Kirkconnell agreed that the “food” on the horizon was exciting, before James gave a more serious answer.

“In the actual future, having a family together,” he said, which made his girlfriend swoon.

“Oh, stop! You’re gonna make me cry,” Kirkconnell said as James kissed the top of her head again.

In the comments section of the viral account’s post, Kirkconnell said that she and James didn’t realize who was asking them questions. “I’m freaking out,” she wrote. “😭 😭 love y’all so much.”

James also commented, as he said it was “the highest honor! 🫶🏾” to be featured on the account.

The couple has previously expressed their interest in starting a family together, but there’s one step that’s most likely going to come first: an engagement.

“We wouldn’t be together if that wasn’t the same goal. I’m definitely excited for what the future looks like with us,” James told PEOPLE in February.

He teased that his proposal will “be something special because Rachael’s very special.”
