Relive Ozzy Osbourne’s Hilarious The Osbournes Moment Where He Chased Around a Cat to Protect It from Coyotes

For three years in the early aughts, Ozzy Osbourne wasn’t just the king of darkness, he was also the king of reality television.

The Black Sabbath frontman starred on a reality show with his wife and manager, Sharon, and two of their children, Kelly and Jack, on the aptly titled The Osbournes.

The show was full of wild family antics, and fans have begun revisiting it in the wake of Ozzy’s death on July 22.

One scene in particular has had fans howling — or should we say meowing? — with laughter in recent days.

In a season 1 episode titled “Trouble in Paradise,” Ozzy tries to catch a cat to protect it from the threat of coyotes.

“Where is she?” Ozzy asks as he hobbles around the backyard with a walking stick, having recently injured his leg.

Ozzy eventually finds the cat and beckons it to follow him before it bolts away.

“Come on, you f—— dumb s— motherf—–,” he exclaims.

After continuing to chase the cat, Ozzy delivers his most iconic line from the show: simply screaming Sharon’s name.

When Sharon arrives on the scene, she tells him he’s not supposed to be doing this due to the injury.

Ozzy says he knows this, but that nobody else was doing it, explaining, “I don’t want the coyotes to get the cat.”

Many fans online note that the memorable scene highlights the show’s chaotic yet endearing nature.

The Osbournes ran for four seasons on MTV between 2002 and 2005.

The show has been credited for being one of the foundational pillars of the reality television genre.

Reflecting on the show in a 2019 interview with PEOPLE, Kelly called the first season “such a magical time in my family’s life because we had no idea what we were doing.”

“We had no idea the show would be so successful,” she continued. “We didn’t know how people would perceive us or anything.”

The show went on to win the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program for its first season.

Of the show’s legacy, Kelly said: “I think that is the most raw and vulnerable you will see any family on TV. And then it all kind of was like an explosion of too much reality for us.”

Ozzy died on July 22 at the age of 76.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the rock star’s family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”

“He was with his family and surrounded by love,” the family’s statement continued. “We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

The news came weeks after Ozzy performed from a throne at the Black Sabbath farewell concert on July 5 in his hometown of Birmingham, England.

Ozzy revealed in January 2020 that he’d been diagnosed in 2003 with Parkinson’s disease, a nervous system disorder that affects movement.

In addition to sharing Kelly and Jack with Sharon, the couple also had a daughter named Aimee, who refused to participate in — and often criticized — The Osbournes. Ozzy also had three other children from the first of his three marriages.
