‘RHOC’ star Katie Ginella speaks out on Jennifer Pedranti, Gretchen Rossi’s anti-Asian video

“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Katie Ginella is calling out co-stars Jennifer Pedranti and Gretchen Rossi for a “hurtful” and racially insensitive video they filmed for social media.
“There’s a very inappropriate video going around where two girls are pretending to fight, squinting their eyes and making Asian faces to Asian sounds,” Ginella, 41, tells Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” detailing the clip, which was created by Pedranti, 48, and Rossi, 46, but quickly deleted.
“It’s very hurtful and inappropriate. It’s 2025 and I think we should read the room.”
Ginella is of Korean descent and made history as the first Asian American to star on “RHOC” in a full-time role when she joined the reality series in 2024.
The Bravolebrity noted that while the video from her co-stars was “quickly taken down” after a “few hours,” the internet, as we know, is forever.
Pedranti and Rossi’s video has been circulating online with netizens outraged by its offensive content. In the clip, Asian music plays as the women, dressed in workout gear, address their online followings in the middle of a gym workout.
“I’m back on ‘Housewives,’” Rossi says, while Pedranti adds, “And we’re ready to defend ourselves.”
The ladies then mimic martial arts moves and lip-sync to what some might consider stereotypical Asian voices while attacking a freestanding punching bag. Making matters worse, Rossi appears to squint her eyes, in an attempt to seemingly mock Asian people for their natural physical features.
After hitting the punching bag, the ladies high-five each other and walk away from the camera.
Though she was once close with both Pedranti and Rossi, Ginella tells “Virtual Reali-Tea” that she no longer maintains friendships with either. The duo’s anti-Asian display certainly hasn’t helped rebuild their bond.
“It’s brought me back to feeling like how I felt growing up a lot. You know, I’m the very first Asian American on ‘Orange County.’ I’m the very first Korean adoptee,” she shares.
“And so being singled out from this cast, it’s all too familiar, the feelings and all that.”

The video sparked immediate backlash online, with many social media users condemning Pedranti and Rossi for their racist behavior.
“This type of racially charged behavior is absolutely unacceptable and I’m tired of it,” wrote @bravoandblaze founder Jenny Blaze, who is “half Asian” and “100% proud,” via Instagram.
Though Blaze hopes to hold Pedranti and Rossi accountable, she isn’t calling for their terminations from the show. Pedranti joined “RHOC” in 2023’s Season 17 and Rossi rejoined the franchise this year following a 10-season hiatus.
“I don’t like to say people should be fired so that’s not what this is,” Blaze added.
Still, Blaze overlayed the video with the phrases, “WTF is this?!” and “Stop Asian hate.”
“Oh wow. This is all kinds of cringe and super tone deaf. Embarrassed for them,” one individual wrote in the comments section, while another added, “It’s gross. What in the actual f—k were they thinking?”
When reached by Page Six for comment, Rossi insisted that the post was not aimed at Ginella.
“The video we made was not directed at Katie and was not meant to be hateful,” she tells us in a statement. “Once it was addressed to us that it could be taken offensively, we took it down immediately.”
Pedranti, for her part, had no comment.
“The Real Housewives of Orange County” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo with new episodes available to stream the next day on Peacock.
