RHONY Star Ubah Hassan Gets Engaged to Investment Banker Oliver Dachsel in Romantic Outdoor Proposal

Ubah Hassan is engaged!

The Real Housewives of New York City star, 41 said “yes” to investment banker Oliver Dachsel in an outdoor proposal. She shared photos of the romantic moment on Instagram on Saturday, May 31, along with a simple quote: “To love and be loved by someone so kind, deeply good, and quietly breathtaking 💍 🧿.”

The photos show the couple enjoying a glamorous picnic in nature, with sweeping views of mountains and cloud-filled blue skies. Several shots show Dachsel down on one knee in front of Hassan, holding a ring box and, later, slipping the sparkler on her finger.

The reality star appears overcome with emotion in one snap featuring the two embracing.

The comments of the post were filled with well-wishes from Hassan’s fellow Bravo stars, including Garcelle Beauvais, who apparently already knew about the engagement. She wrote, “So happy we can now celebrate!!! Hard to keep your secret #lovewins ❤️❤️.”

RHONY costar Sai De Silva commented: “I’m crying so hard right now and I already knew the news 😢.”

Ariana Madix gushed, “ubah!! i’m so happy for you 🥰🥰🥰🥰 congratulations beautiful ❤️❤️.”

Hassan first teased her relationship with Dachsel in the later episodes of season 14 of her Bravo show, coyly referring to him only as “Mr. Connecticut” but declining to share details. During the reunion episode, which aired on Oct. 22, 2023, she explained why she was keeping their romance under wraps.

“He is very private because of his work,” she said at the time, confirming that they were still dating. According to Dachsel’s LinkedIn, he has worked as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets for Aris Mining since April 2024. Prior to that, he was at Jeffries for more than seven years.

During the reunion, Bravo host Andy Cohen gave his stamp of approval for Hassan’s now-fiancé. He revealed at the time that he had met Daschel and was impressed by how “tall and handsome” he was.

Hassan’s costars then chimed with their own praise, with Erin Lichy raving, “He’s the most lovely man, really, and very handsome.” De Silva said, “He is so in love with her. He has sparkles in his eyes.”

“He is the perfect counterpart to Ubah,” Jessel Tank added. “He is patient, he is loving. He kind of just looks at her like she is art in a museum.”

The two made their public debut as a couple just days later, stepping out to the 2023 American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala in New York City.

“It’s our first time on the carpet together,” Hassan told PEOPLE at the event, noting that the pair are both fans of the ballet. “We love it, it’s very beautiful. We just saw [George Balanchine’s] Jewels last month, it was my birthday present.”

Hassan also told PEOPLE that she and Dachsel had been dating for “over a year” after meeting “through friends.”

“I want to say things like, ‘We met on Tinder or Bumble,’ but not really,” she jokingly added.

In addition to their eventual wedding, the couple has other big plans for their future. During RHONY‘s season 15 premiere, which aired in October 2024, Hassan revealed that she wanted “to start trying” to get pregnant toward the end of the year.

“I never thought I wanted to have a baby,” she said in a confessional. “I’m a little spoiled when it comes to my sleep, when it comes to doing what I want to do, travel to Paris just to have dessert. But when I’m talking to Oliver at dinner time with a little candlelight, I’m like, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’ “
