Rihanna is finally launching Fenty Hair: ‘It’s time to play’
Rihanna’s Fenty family is growing.
The superstar announced the launch of Fenty Hair on Instagram Tuesday, sharing a video of herself rocking a short blond pixie cut.
“A new family is moving in! @fentyhair is pullin up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for,” the mom of two, 36, wrote in her caption.
“You know how much switching my hair up matters to me. I’ve had almost every texture, color, length, from weaves to braids to natural,” she continued.
“So I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need! It’s time to play and get stronger by the style.”
Ahead of the brand’s June 13 launch, fans can sign up for early access at the Fenty Beauty website and watch the full teaser video, which includes a sneak peek at the line’s hair gel, moisture mask, shampoo and conditioner, all seemingly aimed at people of all ages and hair types.
It appears Rih may have filmed the video in March, when she was spotted out and about with the same short blond ‘do — though the products have been in the works for much longer.
In 2021, Page Six Style reported the Savage X Fenty founder had filed applications to trademark Fenty Hair.
The filing covered in the areas of dandruff shampoo, hair relaxing preparations, hair weaving preparations, hair color, glitter and more, per documents filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
According to other documents updated this year, Fenty fans can also expect barrettes, scrunchies, hair nets and extensions as well as brushes and combs.
Predictably, diehard fans responded to the news that Rih would be joining the likes of Beyoncé, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jennifer Aniston, Priyanka Chopra and more in the celebrity haircare space with questions about when she will return to music.
“How about you pull up a microphone and record an album,” one person wrote on X, while another said, “this lady a workaholic. atp, there’s no album. gonna start piecing together savage, beauty, and hair commercial songs and make them an album.”

A third gave her ideas how to further expand her empire, suggesting, “Fenty Nails soon ! then Fenty Home, Fenty Cars, Fenty Hotels, …”
While music fans may be clamoring for more tunes, clearly the Bad Gal is doing more than OK; she became a billionaire in 2021 and ranks among the highest paid female musicians.
