Will Rob Kardashian become a series regular on the next season of his family’s reality show?
In the season 7 finale of The Kardashians, which premiered on Thursday, Dec. 25, Khloé Kardashian called her brother to tell him that people were “fangirling” over his appearance in the trailer for the show.
“They are swooning and freaking out,” Khloé, 41, told Rob, 38. He replied, “They are not fangirling.”
Then, a producer asked Rob if he was returning for season 8 — and he could be heard laughing on the other end of the phone.
“I would hope to be on season 8,” Rob, who also appeared at a family celebration in the season 7 premiere episode, said. “I definitely want to film on season 8.”
When Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in 2007, Rob was frequently shown onscreen — though he took a step back from the public eye in 2016. He later explained that he stopped making public appearances — including on his family’s show — because he was “not comfortable” with himself.
In July 2025, he went on his sister’s podcast, Khloé in Wonderland, and was asked about his decision to step away from the spotlight.
“It just has everything to do with myself,” he said. “There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us,” Rob clarified, referring to his relationships with Khloé, his older sisters Kim and Kourtney, his younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner and his mom Kris Jenner.
He further explained that he wasn’t comfortable in his skin — and he didn’t want to put himself out there if it didn’t feel right.
He also pointed out that “filming and doing all that, it’s not for everybody,” to which his sister agreed. “And I choose my own happiness and peace [over] just filming for somebody who doesn’t do anything for me in my personal life,” he added.
At the time, his sister asked if he had ruled out filming entirely.
“No, of course. I mean, I love filming if it’s positive and if it’s natural and I’m feeling good about myself. Then, of course and I’m comfortable,” he said.
“I like being around my family, so that stuff is good to me,” he continued. “Obviously, I have nothing against it. The reason I don’t is because I’m a homebody and I just choose, like I said, my peace and happiness.”
Though Rob took a step back from his family’s reality show in 2016, he went on to star on Rob & Chyna with ex Blac Chyna. The show only aired one season.
