- The special guests came out during Stewart’s legends slot
- “It brings me real great pleasure to bring on the stage two — what I call — legends, along with me,” he said during the set, before surprising the crowd
Rod Stewart had a little help from his friends, and a beloved bandmate, during his latest performance at Glastonbury Festival.
The “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” singer, 80, stepped out on the festival’s Pyramid Stage on Sunday, June 29, for his legends slot performance, where he was joined by special guests Lulu, Rolling Stones member and Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood and Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall.
After playing a few of his biggest hits, including “Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright)” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy,” Stewart surprised the crowd with Hucknall, 65, and a duet of “If You Don’t Know Me by Now” by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes — which was famously covered by Simply Red.
Later in the set, he brought out Wood, 78, for Faces’ 1971 hit “Stay With Me,” as well as Lulu, 76, for a performance of “Hot Legs.”
“Now it brings me real great pleasure to bring on the stage two — what I call — legends, along with me,” Stewart said before surprising the crowd with Wood and Lulu and giving Wood a warm hug.

The Wood surprise comes just two months after drummer Kenney Jones teased in an interview with The Telegraph that an album from Faces was on the way. The LP would mark the English rock group’s first album in 50 years, with “about 11 tracks” recorded so far at RAK Studios in London.
“I can’t see it coming out this year,” Jones said in the spring. “But I can see it coming out next year. Everyone’s doing different things. We do little snippets [of recording] here and there. Then all of a sudden, The Stones are out [on tour] again, Rod’s out again…”
Faces released four albums throughout their tenure after forming in 1969: First Step (1970) Long Player (1971), A Nod Is As Good As a Wink… to a Blind Horse (1971) and Ooh La La (1973).
In January, Wood reunited with Stewart to celebrate Stewart’s 80th birthday, as the former bandmates stepped out for a celebratory night with their wives Sally Wood and Penny Lancaster.
“🥳😎🎂Really fun night celebrating Rod’s 80th!,” Wood wrote at the time of the get-together on Instagram, as Stewart himself thanked fans for “wonderful birthday wishes” in a reflective post of his own.
“What an incredible journey it’s been — from unforgettable moments on and off the stage to earning some truly special honors along the way,” he wrote. “But above all, my greatest joy has always been performing for you. Cheers to the memories we’ve made and the ones still to come! #80YearsOfRod.”
